Howard Johnson
Hojo's is one of the lowest priced chain hotels in Dover, but you get what you pay for. The rooms are very old and in desperate need of remodeling, especially the carpets and the bathrooms. Due to its low prices, it seems to attract the riff-raff... I was awakened at about 3 in the morning by a bunch of loud, drunk kids. On premises, there is a Colombian restaurant and the Extreme Night Club. K-Mart is right next door. It does have a good central location on Du Pont Highway and I had a pleasant stay, other than the drunks. The homemade chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon raisin cookies at the front desk helped. They also have a free breakfast until 10am.
UPDATE (2009) - The old Howard Johnson's is being renovated. It is definately closed and the brand sign has been removed, although the sign about cable TV and in room refrigerators still stands to remind us of its former glory!
