We needed a motel reasonably priced that was near highways to get to both Wilmington and Dover, somewhat near I-95 for arrival and departure and near relatives living in the Wrangle Hill area of Bear.

And we found this great little motel right on route 13, right near where it meets US40.
Route 13 was convenient to get to Dover and Wilmington and US40 was good route to get to relatives home over in one of those cul-de-sac streets with an italian name.

The motel price was below average for the area ($62 including all charges, in 2004) and yet had all the amenties we needed. The rooms were average size, two beds, desk, table with chair, TV cabinet, night stand. The bathroom was tub with shower and was very clean. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave and a coffee maker.
All of the furniture and room dressings were old style but not nicked or frayed. The rugs were new and the walls had been painted recently.

The staff was very friendly and efficient at keeping the room clean and stocked for our 5-day stay. It appeared that they were all from one large family who owned and operated the premises. The only problem we had was a slight language barrier; they had problems with our New York accent and we had difficulty with there Indian accent. But with a lot of "pardon" and "could you say that again, please", we got along just fine.

A continental breakfast was supplied each day in the hotel: toast, coffee, danish, u-make waffles, juice.

Unique Qualities: It was conveniently located for our needs and priced within our budget.

One minor problem was getting into the motel driveway from US40 heading east. You had to slide over 4 lanes (two from US40 and two from route13 where they merge) from left to right in a block and one-half. This was tricky during traffic times. Often we would bypass the motel and get the U-turn at the next light and approach the motel from the east. Then we only had the two lanes of route 13 to cross to get to the motel.
