Brooksville is a somewhat small town that is slowly growing...Lots of friendly people..Weeki Wachie Home Of the Mermaid show would be a great place for families to go...There is also a water slide park, with slides going straight into spring water....
Pine Island is a small beach if someone would like to lay out and get some rays...Downtown Brooksvile has some antique shops and some really nice restraunts... What I'll miss most when I leave Brooksville will be the old brick streets in Brooksville, The moss hung trees and the sunsets out at Bayport (a fishing dock that heads out to the Gulf.)
Also the great pizza and steak sandwiches at Luiges Pizza...
Brooksville, Florida

"Why we chose Brooksville"
We just wanted a two day - one night get away from Orlando, Florida. While looking for an "off the beaten path" kind of town we ran across Brooksville. We didn't want to spend a bunch of money or cram our two days with a bunch of tourist-y things... just a nice relaxing getaway. That's exactly what we got in Brooksville. It was truly a step back in time! No traffic, no long drives, no overloaded streets or too much development. There were brick paved streets... locally owned shops... the houses weren't all cookie cut houses... the locals were extremely friendly... If you are looking to get away and relax... Brooksville's the place to go! I felt like I found Mayberry!
