Gulf waters are typically 60-70F during our winters depending on location and depth of water. During the winter months, our beaches are usually lovely for our visitors from the colder climates although you'll find yourself hard up for salty conversation from the locals on the sand...we're bundled up indoors. Enjoy! :)

I doubt we will see 70 degree water in January or February along the Gulf coast. It could be as low as the middle 50s. Too cold for pleasant swimming unless you are a regular memeber of some "Polar Bear Club". On warm days when the air gets into the low 80s, just being on the nice sandy beach is enough sometimes.

Make a list before you leave home

It would be odd to find yourself in a setting that isn't casual here. Pack accordingly. Still, if you're at all concerned, take something that would be classified as "business-casual." In the better restaurants, this will work great with dress codes. I shouldn't have to mention this, but I've witnessed it, so.....DON'T show up in the nicer places in a tank top and/or thong! Enough said? Take (& use) sunscreen. Don't buy it there. It's expensive. You know what you need. Of course, just like sunscreen, film is expensive here, too.

Clearwater is a great place to stay for a few days to wind down after the busy disney parks .
from here you can go on day trips from the harbour ,we took a half day trip on a deep sea fishing boat.
