Sleep Inn

Really near the airport

I have usually been quite happy with the Sleep Inn. It is less expensive than the Hampton in and has the free breakfast, the pool and the free local calls.

The pool looks good and there is also a hot tub. I didn't try it though.

This particular Sleep Inn however, doesn't have much of a breakfast. There were a few toaster waffles, a couple of bagels, some English muffins, and tiny regular muffins. Two kinds of cereal, and coffee (no tea). The only extra thing was that they had 4 kinds of juice.

For dinner we went to Bascom's (which is not listed as a nearby restaurant on their website - neither was the Chinese restaurant next door)

All of these were across the road.

Unique Quality: Good things - free DSL line in the room, and an awesome shower. There is no tub but I like a shower much better when I don't have to step over the edge of the tub.

It was close to Clearwater-St. Petersburg airport but we didn't hear any noise - possibly because the wind was such that planes weren't taking off or landing towards us.

Bad things - so much traffic on the road that it was impossible to get out of the driveway -- traffic was heavy and unremitting. (The front rooms were probably noisier than the back rooms.)and an anemic breakfast.

I suspect this is primarily a business hotel.
