One word, FANTASTIC!!!! And all I can say about this place is that it is the best and most friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. Fantastic Service, everyone couldn't do enough for you so friendly. The room itself was clean & simple - however the highlight of staying at this hotel was the customer service the front desk had. A nice choice at breakfast too.

Just waking up from my nap on the Beach
Trolley Bus, Clearwater Beach
We are stopping at the Best Western Sea Wake in Clearwater, Florida for two weeks from the 9th September. I would be grateful for all info available. What hotal is like, what to do, where to eat etc. Anything that may be useful. Many thanks
Will you have a car? I suggest you click on the Tampa Travel Guide and the St. Petersburg Travel Guide for some suggestions - Busch Gardens, Ybor City, Lowry Park Zoo, Clearwater Beach, Ft. DeSoto State Park {also wonderful beaches} Dali Museum, and so forth. There are reviews of all these places on those pages. Enjoy!
take a day trip to sarasota. shopping at st. armand's is great and there is a great spanish restaurant there called columbia's. marie selby gardens. Lunch at the beach house (anna marie island) and dinner at phillippi creak
Many thanks both of you for your replies they were very helpful and yes we have a car booked. One last thing, we are taking our 6 year old granddaughter, are there any 'sit outside' bars within walking distance of the hotel where we can take her and do any have evening entertainment. Many thanks
One of the important things to find when you are on the road are locations that have free wi-fi. During my trip, I was able to find one location that provided free wi-fi to customers, and that was at Mugs 'n Jugs.
There is nothing like enjoying free internet to surf Virtualtourist.com while eating some great chicken wings!

Unique flavors, very good quality (nice and rich/creamy). Khalua Crunch ice cream - chocolat ice cream, with a hint of Khalua flavor, fudge chunks, and chocolate syrup swirled in....
Clearwater Beach is lovely, with white sand and warm water. On this last trip, it was quite windy and the waves were as high as I'd seen them excepting a hurricane or tropical storm. The beach is quite wide and stretches for miles to the north and south, so finding just the right spot shouldn't be a problem. Near the pier, directly west of the main traffic circle is one of the pay parking lots. There's another farther south. The rates are quite reasonable.
The only downside to Clearwater Beach, is that many of the smaller, mom-and-pop motels are being sold, torn down, and turned into fancy schmancy condominium complexes. In consequence, there's a lot of construction going on right now and the traffic will no doubt only get heavier.
Retired- Spend my time traveling or planning to travel. Some golf some fishing some tennis. Was lucky to have worked in Europe for a long time. Enabled me to travel quite a bit, but I never get tired of it. Its still a big world out there and most people are really good and helpful. I certainly am not an expert but I enjoy seeing places and people. I have never been to China and would like to see the highlights, eat their wonderful food and learn a few things. If anyone would like to communicate I shall be happy to respond.
