Hi
We are travelling from the UK, doing the parks in Orlando, in February. My wife has, dare I say, her 40th birthday then. I am looking to suprise her with a luxury beach hotel in the Clearwater area.
Has anyone any suggestions of a good hotel or any other ideas for a great suprise.
Looking forward to your replies.

There's plenty of construction in Clearwater Beach these days and you might be put off by the noise and workers. Perhaps a better choice would be the Don Cesar in St. Pete Beach, which is about 15 miles south. This is a great upscale resort in a historic building on the beach. From the Don you can walk south on the beach for a few miles to Pass-A-Grille and explore the local restaurants and bars. If you walk north from the Don you'll find a number of beach bars and places to eat. This resort requires no apologies.
Clearwater Beach is where my family and I stayed for a vacation after my sister got married in Tampa. It is a big Spring Break destination, and a very lovely destination to lounge in the sun. There is a lot to do here, so live it up!
