Hi there. Just wondering how far is clearwater beach is from orlando as i will be arriving in florida on the 26 june and would someone kindley advise me on the weather as we no it is hurricane season there in florida will it be sunny or misrible we are all looking forward to florida but neaver being this part of america thankyou to all who apply i hope us brits make sense cheers have a cold one on me when we get there

Correction...maybe 20 hours driving. I just checked Yahoo maps, and 2 hours is what came up

Confirm above, about 2 hours. The highway route is simple to follow if memory serves but one warning, the exit signs creep up very quickly on US highways. It is definitely worth a visit to Clearwater and assuming you are going to theme parks, a welcome change from queuing

I've never seen such varied answers lol.
I do the drive quite often from my house in Orlando and it takes about an hour to Tampa and then an additional 30 minutes. This estimate includes traffic, so sometimes it will take shorter. The highway is usually really good traffic wise, it's once you get off the highway in Tampa is when the traffic gets bad, but the views are great.
Daytona Beach is only a 45 minute drive and is nice as well.

SPF 45.....PLENTY of it!

Shoes??? Forget about it! Bring sunblock from home or pay a small fortune here! If you are the type to not care too much, I highly suggest bringing along a lidocaine based gel to soothe your poor burning skin! Store it in a refrigerator for greater relief when applying it! If you are vacationing with children, check with the hotel about a beach umbrella. Many vacationers buy them here and leave them for someone else to use. I think it is important for a child to take a break from the sun once in a while. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have some sand toys, too!
