Best place to stay

Me and my wife spent 5 beautiful days at the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach from october 17th to 22nd (just before Wilma arrived). Temperature was in the 80s all the time (water 70s) and we had blue skies for 3 days. Staff was excellent and we had one of these awesome sea-view rooms at the 8th floor. Each room has a small private balcony and everything is very clean. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and the short walking distance to the beach (about 200 yards). Breakfast buffet included a lot of warm and cold stuff and you could pick up your hot coffee 24hrs a day. They also have two computers with internet account in the lobby. I definitely would recommend the Hampton Inn to all people travelling to KSC (20 minutes) and Orlando Fun parks (1 hr.), its`s really fantastic having beach life after coming home...

loved this hotel definitely well worth it

by A TripAdvisor Member

i was visiting cocoa beach with my son for a week long vacation in florida. we chose the hamptoninn cocoa beach over many of the hotels in the area on the advice of my son who has stayed in the hampton;s before. what a pleasant surprise. we were given a room early for check in since we arrived many hrs earlier. the room was exceptionally clean. the pool was exceptionally maintained and cleaned daily in the morning by the maint. staff. the deck area was cleaned as well daily. the continental breakfast was extraordinary. they served hot as well as cold items and coffee all day long. the staff at the desk were very helpful in questions to what there is to do in town and out of town. the beach was very close to walk to- like 50 yds from the hotel. there was a walkway to the beach. the housekeeping did a fantastic job with the rooms daily. i would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a real nice hotel to stay at. i was only there for 3 days and i now wish i had extended to all the 5 days while in flor. tho we had made other arrangements to go to orlando nothing can beat this hotel. i rate them with the highest you can give. it was very affordable and with AAA the rates were much better then without. when i return in the future i will be sure to book with them again and make it a longer stay and do the driving then put up with another who cant match the hampton inn's quality. thankyou hamptonn inn. it was GREAT!

Good Service, Great Location, Typical Hampton Inn

by TripAdvisor Member PureOcean

This hotel has a perfect position. It is set back from the beach but dont let that put you off, it shares a small pathway past a house on the right and a condo block on the left. The way walkway is very clean, and lovely as you stroll to the beach. You can rent Surfboards, Beach Chairs and other things from a vendor on the beach at the end of the small beach path as you enter the beach.

The hotel is very secure, the staff extremely welcoming, the hotel pool very clean, and the rooms cleaned regular between 09.30am to 3pm.

I stayed with my wife, two children (1 year and 6 years). We enjoyed it very much, it was our third visit to Cocoa beach and our first to this hotel. One night it became a little chilly so we switched on the heating to find that it was not working correct we telephoned the reception and the tech man was with us in 10 mins and considering that was 2am in the morning that was impressive. He then said that he would be back and came back with a total new air conditioning unit, unscrewed the other one and 30 minutes later we had brand new machine!!! now that is customer service.

The other great bonus of this hotel is that the owners actually also own the Marriott next door so you can use all the facilities over in that hotel as well. Such as Bar, Restuaant and Jucuzzi and swimming pool. So if it gets real hot at the hampton inn swimming pool (and it can because the pool has little shade and get sthe sun all day!), just hop over to the marriott pool area that is all shaded with trees... that makes it perfect.

The breakfast is typical Hampton Inn style, and you can grab a bag as well. Do what we did, have breakfast and then grab a bag on teh way out for a brunch snack and that makes it well worth it.

The rooms, very clean, no issues, furniture in good condition we had a brand new sofa bed as well, went to use it and it still had the plastic on teh matress (excellent!).

This hotel is used by NASA staff a lot for conferences etc... so be aware of that!

Overall a great stay, friendly staff and I can tell you it may not be a Ritz or a Hyatt but Hampton has its product perfect and a good price with excellent staff.

Finally the internet access is free in your room and is a network cable you just plug into your PC with a weekly password, excellent (very handy!) and if you have not got a PC you have a two in Reception!

BOOK THIS HOTEL, I would again.

Good hotel for the money

by TripAdvisor Member titanfan1

I stayed here 2 nights in Oct.I paid for an ocean view, but you had to be on the balcony and look all the way left to actually see the ocean.Besides that,I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the beach is very easy to get to.I would probably stay here again if I'm in the area.

Very nice hotel

by TripAdvisor Member mizlori

Stayed here pre-cruise; a good choice I must say. Nice rooms, great pool. Good brkfst included. NOT oceanfront--hotel or condo building in the way. Would recommend and would stay there again pre- or post-cruise.
Small resort area--but some good restaurants nearby.

Great except for Wilma!

by TripAdvisor Member traveler pam

We ended up staying here at the last minute due to Hurricane Wilma. We were scheduled to arrive in Orlando on Monday Oct. 24 for a cruise. Due to Wilma, we changed our flight to Sun. Oct. 23 and our TA booked us at Hampton. We took a private shuttle from Orlando to the hotel.

The afternoon was beautiful and we walked on the beach and swam in the pool. We found out that our cruise would be delayed until Tuesday Oct. 25. We were able to book a second night before we left home. It was sold out upon arrival.

On Monday, Wilma hit. We had a 7th floor room with a view of the beach. The waves were awesome. The power went out for about 4 hours in the afternoon. Luckily the lobby had board games that we were able to play. Everyone kinda just hung out. The restaurant was open next door but was only able to serve cold food (salads and sandwiches).

We were able to keep in touch with family and friends via the free internet connection in the lobby. Needless to say, they were all worried about us.

The breakfast was good. It appears that most of the rooms have balconies. There is a full service restaurant in the Marriott next door. Ron Jon's Surf Shop is a short walk away. The beach access was great! The pool isn't anything fancy but our kids were happy.

Art's shuttle provides transportation to Port Canaveral for 4.00 pp. Sign up at the lobby. The shuttle arrives about noon each day.

BTW, this was one of those times that it paid to have a flashlight. Always make sure you travel with one. Due to the power outage, we had to take the stairs up and down to the 7th floor. Without the flashlight it would of been very dangerous. The lighting was minimal in the stairwell.

We would stay here again.

Nice hotel on the whole

by TripAdvisor Member wizzi

This hotel could do with abit of updating, afew things in our room were abit tattered, but other than that a standard Hampton Inn hotel. Front desk personnel were very helpful and the pool was nice.

A little shop worn

by TripAdvisor Member omalley62

I stayed 5 days for business at NASA. The hotel has some wear such as rust on the bathroom door and a clogged second sink. Whoever called the swimming pool "nice" needs to take a closer look. There was a lot of dirt on the bottom by the drains. The water was so cloudy when illuminated by the pool lights at night it looked like soup!

Great place to stay before cruising!

by TripAdvisor Member wisl56

In October 2005, we stayed at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. We had a beautiful view of the ocean! The room was big enough for the three of us and it included a small balcony. We had 2 Queen beds. They offered a great continental breakfast in the morning and they also arranged for us to get transportation (Al's Shuttle @ 4.00 per person each way) to our cruise ship. Just ask them to call Al's for you. They allowed us to keep our car on their property for 7 days at no charge whatsoever! We have stayed there two years in a row and we already have reservations for September 2006 when we go cruising again! This hotel is worth the price (approx.$110.00)!

Not the best Hampton Inn

by TripAdvisor Member hardingk

We stayed here 1 night prior to a cruise departing out of Port Canaveral. I am a Gold Hilton Honors member and was disappointed with my stay. First it was 30 degrees that night and the heat was not working properly so we had to bundle up. The room showed some wear & tear and could use so new carpet. I also was surprised that the hampton inn had the doors to the rooms outside, normally they are inside. This made the room even colder that night. The breakfast was the basic hampton breakfast, free internet, but it was not wireless. Pool area was nice, room had a nice balcony with 2 chairs & table.

The best part of the room was that for the rate of the hotel, we were able to leave our car there for the week for free, saving the parking fee at the port. However, it was a $40 taxi ride to the hotel from the pier since we didn't sign up for the hotel's $4pp shuttle.

water temp/ good times??

by ssmmee

It's our first time to Cocoa Beach and I'm wondering how the water is around the first week of February? I know what the websites say but I want a locals opinion! Also--any fun activities I should know about? We are all in our 20's and want more than just bars!

Re: water temp/ good times??

by USanFrancisco

The water will be cold, but barable for about an hour if you are surfing or boogie boarding. Cocoa is pretty boring to be honest, other than the beach of course. Why do you guys want to come to Cocoa when you're all in your 20's? It's good for surfers from Orlando (closest beach), families, and old folks.

Re: water temp/ good times??

by ssmmee

we are staying in Cocoa beach at a family beach house but also going to do amusement parks, Orlando, Daytona, surfing etc. We are also driving to Savannah for a few days. The water sounds incredibly bearable seeing that we are coming from Seattle! Thanks!

Re: water temp/ good times??

by OttonJana

The water is too cold for this local. If you are going to surf you will need a wet suit. Surf/Pier/Jetty fishing can be good in the cold waters if the area recovers from the 2 recent Red Tide outbreaks. Savannah will be infintely more fun than Cocoa.
