Fantastic place to stay

My wife and I and another couple had reservations at a resort on Grand Bahama Island but couldn't get into Freeport due to hurricane Sandy. We switched our stay to The Resort on Cocoa Beach at the very last minute and were very pleased with our decision. Great resort, great area, great room (on the 4th floor, ocean view), great beach, great staff. Get my message? GREAT.

Unique Quality: The suite was spacious, well decorated, well equiped and resort was beautiful and located near great retaurants and many attractions. The beach was clean and wide open, with plenty of area for lounging or doing what ever you want to do on the beach. Go down and watch the sun rise - fantastic.

Average Timeshare

I read some good reviews about this place and for $299 for a week, I figured it couldn't be that bad. Cocoa Beach is a one hour drive from Orlando/Disney and we made the trip almost every day.

The resort was clean, and had a full kitchen, which helps for making quick breakfasts for the kids. All the under 10 year olds loved the ball pit in the kid's play room. They also had a number of supervised activities and a movie theater. The kids thought the place was great. We had no problems with it either, except for the once a week tidy service instead of regular maid service.

The pool was very nice and heated. There weren't enough high speed boxes for us to have one, so we had to trudge to the lobby every time to use our laptop.

Unique Quality: As above. Very close to the beach. Not a lot of great restaurants in Cocoa, but 10 minutes away there was a mall and upper end places to eat.

I would say this is a good value for mid range properties, but if you are expecting higher end, this is not the place for you.

The Best On Coacoa Beach!

by A TripAdvisor Member

We just returned home from as week at The Resort on Cocoa Beach. Wow! What a wonderful, wonderful place! The rooms were so very, very nice, we had a penthouse on the 8th floor. The view was unreal, the theater was terrific, the Mexican Resterant was so yummy, the pool was just great with the Tiki Bar and all. We took 4 teens with us, they had a blast. You really don't have to go anywhere because the Resort is full of fun things to do. We will for sure stay there again. We checked other hotels while we were on our visit, and NOTHING compares to The Resort on Cocoa Beach! The staff was helpful and friendly, all the clean towels you can use! Can't think of anything I would change, everything was top, top notch! The weather was beautiful, 70 degrees on Christmas Day! The teens surfed, went to ride go carts, went to the mall, of course went to Ron Jons (about 50 times), it was perfect for them and really perfect for us to! Thank you resort on Cocoa Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to go back!!!

I have never written a review before, but this one deserves top rating!! We just returned from our stay at the Resort on Cocoa Beach, and we absolutely LOVED it there!! We were sad that we had only stayed for four days, because there was SOOO very much to do there at the resort, and we still didn't get to take advantage of it all!! Everything is TOP QUALITY--the rooms are fantastic--very clean, and the largest bedrooms we have ever stayed in, with walk-in closets, jacuzzi, washer/dryer, every single kitchen amenity you can think of (all you need to bring is the food! They provide dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, etc) The staff was top notch too! Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a problem with the washer when we arrived, and when I called Maintenance, he arrived almost spontaneously, and fixed the problem within minutes. We are so impressed with all the activities that they had for children--They have children's activities ALL DAY LONG, and we didn't even have time to check out the moderate-sized movie theater because they kept the kids so busy.(The theater does show recent-released films, rated G during the day, and PG-13 and R in the evenings). They had a Jungle Adventure team bring in various native animals/lizards/etc---the kids loved it! They also offer tours for local adventures (i.e., dolphin/manatee watches, gambling cruises, etc...) so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Very reasonable rates for what you get here, and we HIGHLY recommend this hotel. We will return!!!!

Loved it!!!!!!

We stayed a week in July of 2004 and it was the most quiet and clean place.
We enjoyed the pool area and there were so many activities. I can't wait to go back and stay again. Beautiful Grounds and very friendly staff.

Had a great time

My wife and I stayed at this resort from May 14th to the 20th. This was our first time staying there. We have been to Cocoa Beach 5 times, each time we stayed at a different hotel.
We reserved an ocean front penthouse room. A penthouse room is an 8th floor room. The rooms were very nice with a full kitchen, master bedroom with a walk-in closet and full bath with jacuzzi tub and seperate shower. There was another bedroom with 2 single beds along with another full bath. There was a living room with a deck overlooking the ocean. If you stay on the 8th floor you get reserved parking.
This is not a hotel so don't expect daily maid service. A maid will come in mid week and tidy up and exchange your towels. There is a towel exchange service if you want to exchange your towels yourself.
The resort provides everything you need to cook. There is a grocery store just down the street.
Beach chairs are available for rent on the beach.
The view from our balcony was spectacular.
The resort staff was very friendly.
We will stay here again.

We will be back!!

Loved this hotel... Huge 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen and large porches. Great service and a real friendly hotel staff. Our 3 year old loved the huge pool with the waterfall. Lots of kids, and plenty to do. Definetly the best in Cocoa!!

Great family place to vacation

by A TripAdvisor Member

The Resort on Cocoa Beach was a great family resort. Our family of four stayed there for 10 nights in June. Our 2 sons ages 8 and 11 had plenty of other children to play with. They even had their photos taken with a snake that was brought in from an area zoo. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were most impressed with our accomodatioins. Our living quarters were large and very, very clean! The carpet and furnishings were new. The pool area was also very clean. There is no lifeguard on duty at the pool or on the beach. Our unit was on the fifth floor and we had a great view. I would think you would need to ask to be above the 3rd floor for the best view. The only negative thing we encountered was the service in the Mexican Rest. They were very slow, but the food was good. This is a timeshare, but we were not pressured to attend a meeting. We plan on returning next year to this great resort.

Family Fun

We just returned from a 5 night stay at this resort. We had our two children ages 9 and 10 and they had a great time.
The rooms were spacious, clean and neat. We had an Ocean view which was very nice.
There were activities available most of the day, from crafts, movies, a play center with a ball pit, game room, and always a game of pool volleyball going on.
We would recommend this place for families and will go back in the future.
I would give the place 5 stars if there weren't some little things that bothered me. The toilets had poor pressure hard to flush, the one and only restaurant had slow service and fair food. The activites that they plan throughout the day are very short lived. The pool games lasted all of 15 minutes.

Perfect Family Vacation

We just got home from our stay at The Resort-beach was never crowded, hotel was clean, staff very friendly, the pool is nice. Covered parking is a plus for those afternoon rain showers. Highly reccomend the Adventure Kayak trip for families-kids can pet the manatees. The indoor movie theator was fun and the hotel restaurant was never crowded. We never had to wait on the elevator on the 8th floor, yet Resort was at full occupancy.

Superb accomidations

Stayed at the Resort from July 12-16th. The staff was great! We arrived three hours early to check in. The front desk called me on my cell an hour later to tell us our room was ready. We asked to be above the third floor (hoping for a better view of the ocean). At first they said they didn't have anything available. After looking in the computer, they said they had something on the fourth floor. When we checked in, they put us on the fifth floor. Although the room was an ocean view, the sights were spectacular. We were on the North side of the Resort. The Hilton was on the South side and was under major repair. Jackhammers, man-lifts, lots of noise. I can't say if those people on that side of the Resort were bothered by the noise or not. We could only hear the work while at the pool. Although the construction was going on during the day and was only 100 feet away, we really didn't notice the noise. The room we stayed in (510) had everything you would need. Large masterbed room, spare bed room with two single beds (pushed them together to make one big bed) large master bath room with shower and whirlpool. Large 2nd bath room with shower and large vanity. Kitchen had all utensils, pots and pans, plates, and anything you would need to cook. Only complaint, pans were not non stick. It made it difficult to make scrambled eggs. Nice living room. 14'x8' balcony with chairs and table. Double sliding doors leading out to the balcony was handy.
The pool was nice and big. It got crowded in the afternoon, but mornings and evenings were relatively quiet. The tiki bar was handy to have a cold beer or pina colada. A lot of people brought drinks in coolers with them to the pool. The beach was fairly quiet. There is a large space between the Hilton and whatever hotel is next to it, so there aren't many people walking the beach. It is about 100 yards from the Resort to the beach. There is a nice wooden walkway leading to the beach from the Resort. If we return to Cocoa Beach, we would absolutely stay here again.
