A great place...can't wait to go back!!!

Awesome place. This was the first trip for me and my wife since we had the baby (4 month old girl). We are from NY and wanted to go somewhere that was warm and we had no plans on leaving the hotel so the property choice was important to us. We read the reviews here and we were fairly certain we made the right choice but everything exceeded our expectations once we got there. The staff is professional and nice. Here are my thoughts:
1. Pools: 3 which are awesome. Only used two because the third is a "quiet pool" and obviously adults only. The first is the family pool which instead of steps leading into the pool, is sloped like a beach so you can sit in 1 foot of water with your little one and have a great time. Has a great slide (for adults too) and a few other cool features. The other pool is the lazy river which is great for tubing and relaxing. Only drawback, no umbrellas so its hard to find shade. The hot florida sun requires it but I'm told umbrellas are on the way.
2. Rooms: Great. We have stayed at 5 start properties everywhere and although a little small, the rooms were well appointed, and the tv's and cable service were great (if you go out, not important, but if you plan on staying in, its a great touch). Tip: DO NOT OPEN THE BALCONY DOOR AFTER SUNDOWN!!! Your room will be full of mosquitos. Other than that, it was great.
3. Food: We ate at all the restaurants and they were all good (not great, but fine). Surprisingly, David's Club (like a cigar bar) had the best food. Everything is really rich (at all the restaurants) and kind of pricey but what do you expect at a hotel?
4. Other tips: If you have a car, go to the Walgreens or the Publix down the road and buy a cooler and buy soda, water and snacks. Having your own beverages will save a ton of money. Also, we travelled with a baby and having those stores nearby helped tremedously.
Despite other reviews, there is no anti-family bias (everyone was very gracious with our baby and catered to our needs- Our baby liked the hotel crib better than the crib at home). Also, the corporate fat-cats do take over the hotel (Orlando is a major convention center and the hotel has great business facilities). The pool was closed early once and almost again a second time (cancelled) but there are three pools in total and both times the other two were to remain open. I would recommend this place to anyone!!!
Fabulous Hotel

My husband and I just returned from our week long trip to Orlando and had a wonderful stay at the Omni. We have both travelled extensively around the world and this was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at.
The hotel is beautiful and immaculate. It is probably the cleanest hotel I have stayed at. In fact, the hotel was so immaculate when we first walked in, that we were afraid it would be a little "stuffy" for our tastes, but as soon as we checked in, we found that it is possible to get 5-star treatment in a hotel where every member of the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The service was top notch. Everywhere we went throughout our stay, we were greeted with hellos, and the staff will frequently ask you how your stay is and what they can do to make your stay even better.
Our room was well appointed, with a very comfortable bed and large TV. Our bathroom was a perfect size and fairly large compared to some other hotels although not huge.
The number one thing at this hotel is definitely the ammenities. Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball, Golf...you name it, it is at this hotel. The pools were great, especially the lazy river. Of course, the pools were extremely clean as well and beautifully landscaped. We were there for a week, and the formal pool closed at 5:00 on one evening, but no need to worry! There are two other perfectly nice pools to relax next to. Every other day the pools were open all day, so I wouldn't worry about not being able to use the pool.
And the person who mentioned the anti-family bias at this hotel? I find that incredibly hard to believe, especially after staying there. Although my husband and I travelled without children, there were families everywhere! There is even Camp Omni...a day camp for kids there and several activities throughout the day for children such as building sand castles, raft races etc. To me, if I had children, this would be the perfect blend of having a nice family atmosphere without having to give up luxuries.
Finally, about the location. We rented a car and never once had a problem getting to Disney. Again, I read some other reviews that mentioned 30 minutes at a minimum to get to Disney and sometimes over 60 min? Did this person stay at the same hotel I did??? Since we had park hopper passes, my husband and I would go back and forth throughout the day to enjoy the parks as well as the hotel and I can honestly say that it never took more than 10 minutes to get to Disney.
I would recommend renting a car if you stay at this hotel to give you more flexibility about when you leave for the parks as there are only a few times the hotel shuttle leaves during the day. It will also give you affordable options for eating if you just want something quick and simple.
We found that the prices for food were what you would expect for a hotel like this...not cheap, but then again, not much more than what you would pay at Disney and you definitely get a lot more for your money. All of our meals were very, very good.
This hotel is classy and top notch. Very well run and a very good value especially compared to the Disney properties I have stayed at before. Choose this hotel and you will not be disappointed...it was great!
Great Place to Stay

We just returned from four days at the Omni At Chapionsgate. The Omni is a fantastic place to stay. There were 14 in our party from ages 2 through 65 and there was something for everyone to do. We really enjoyed the pools and specially the lazy river. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and lunch at Trevi's and it was very nice.
The only thing everyone in our group complained about is that the beds are too small and the air conditioner is defaulted to 74 degrees. My husband and I almost fell out of bed on different occasions and we are not heavy set people. The beds they have now are not much larger than a twin size bed. The beds in my opinion should be replaced with queen size beds. The air conditioner should be set so that the guest can select the tempature they feel the most comfortable in.
Well worth it!

We stayed at the Omni Championsgate, which is about 10 m inutes from Disney. The ride wasn't long to Disney, and it gave us somewhere to come "home" and unwind that didn't so closely resemble everything disney. The hotel was gorgous. The accomidations great. The pool and lazy river where a hit--my kids favorite. They had a nice golf course also. Very satisfied and i'll probably go back.
Excellent Hotel

A wonderful four star hotel. Very clean, and service was very good. The food is expensive, but that is to be expected when you stay at a resort hotel. Downtown Disney is about ten minutes away and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from there. The grounds were wonderful and rooms were very nice. They have three pools. One that is a quieter "adult" pool with four cabanas on each side. The cabanas are very nice to rent, only if you plan on spending time at that pool. The lazy river pool and the beach style pool with the slide is on the other side, so if you rent a cabana, you really can't watch the kids from that side. There are plenty of lounge chairs and a few umbrellas. The pool for the children are great and the lazy river is wonderful too. Not too much shade yet, because its a new hotel and the landscape is still young. I don't golf, so I can't say anything about it except that they are still building more gold courses around this hotel. I would assume that in the next few years there will be a lot more in the area. There is a local supermarket, Publix that is a block from the resort. Also there is a Walgreens and a couple of restaurants. This is a great place to relax either as a couple or as a family. This place is really clean and very nice!
