Not impressed at all

I was there for Bike Week and I will definitely stay somewhere else next time. I booked ahead and was told they had a four night minimum and I paid way too much for the room, but, it was one of the only places left with rooms. That should have been my first clue not to stay there. When I called to make reservations I talked to someone who didn't know much and didn't speak much english and then I got paperwork that told me no trailers. I called back and talked to someone who knew what she was talking about, but still couldn't get my trailer parked. She gave me some numbers to call, and I wasn't too happy about having to pay an arm and a leg for the room AND then sixty bucks for the trailer. Oh well. She gave me a break on the price, she probably felt bad for me. It was still too much.
Long story short, security is a joke, the place is still under construction, its boring and way out of date, it just needs a whole lot of work. No restaurant and the bar is a joke. NASTY AND GROSS. You're not supposed to smoke in there, but they do, and it smells like a wet ashtray. Most everyone that works there doesn't seem to be in a very good mood, except this one guy who brought me a new coffeemaker, he seemed to be the only one that liked his job. Not only did they screw up my bill, but everyone seemed to be paying about half of what I was. When I complained I was told, oh well, that's the way the hotel business is. I talked to a bunch of other people that only had to stay one or two nights and paid a lot less. Thats just not right.
The only good parts are the rooms are pretty clean, the pools are ok and the garage is good for keeping your bike out of the rain, that is when you can sneak by the sleeping old guy at the door.
Very Rood....

We live in Florida and every year we have family come to visit, we generally like to stay at the beach for a week. I have always stayed here however, our last visit was a joke! My sister, myself and my 3 yr old son woke up early to see the sun rise from our balcony. When we went out there we witnessed a couple having sex next door on there balcony 3 feet away from us, my son said "Mommy Look , what are they doing"? It was terrible so we called front desk to explain to them what happened they told us to speak with management at 8:am. So we waited and when I finally spoke with the manager she just laughed and said "Sorry I can't control what other people do".
My husband and I were very upset to say the least. We never expected to wake up and wittiness that not to mention the manager didn't even have the decency to apologize or change our room. I wrote a letter to her manager and never herd back from anyone. I tried leaving comments on there websites ratings but they never seem to post them. If I wanted to stay at the cat house I would have stayed across the street. Very disappointed.......
First Timer to Florida

In May I stayed in a condo at this resort and I really enjoyed the accomodations. Everything was clean. Staff was friendly. They have a mini golf course right by the ocean, great for pictures, and you can play for free when ever you like. The views are beautiful. The only con is you are 3 miles from downtown, and trust me, you do not want to walk to town. Therefore either rent a car or prepare to have to get a cab every time you go downtown. Also, make sure to visit RJ Gators and the Ocean Deck for good time. Stay away from the other resturants in boardwalk area. Way over priced!!!
Good for the Price!

We stayed here for 4 nights while attending a conference. We had a studio suite with a city view that we got for $49 a night on Travelocity. It had a full size refrigerator and small kitchen area with a two burner range and a microwave. One thing that was odd was that the counter for the kitchen sink connected with the counter for the bathroom sink. Also for the first two days, our shower had hardly any water pressure and did not get hot at all. However, when we mentioned this to the front desk clerk, they had maintenance upstairs within 10 minutes, and he was able to fix it--problem solved! What was also impressive was that this was at 10 PM at night. Overall it was nice having the kitchen area for an extended stay...better than a typical hotel room would have been.
What a great family resort

Our stay was excellent. With two small children (7&4) the resort had everything we needed. The pool was heated (felt about 80) and the putt putt golf was a hit. I could lay in my chair by the pool and watch them. We really didn't have to go anywhere in the car, but the garage parking was convenient to our room. There is no restaurant yet, but we had a small kitchen. The staff was always smiling and ready to assit. We went to relax and enjoy each other. I am looking forward to staying here again.
Very pleased with the Daytona Beach R&C!

We stayed in a one bedroom condo at this resort through our vacation club in November. We had a lovely condo with kitchen including stovetop, microwave, coffeemaker. 2 full size beds, a balcony facing the ocean/beach/pools. There was one heated pool outside, one non-heated, a great pool area bar, kiddie pool area, an indoor pool and 2 hot tubs indoor. We were there when they were redecorating the lobby and conference center which looked fabulous when they finished on 11/1. Our 17 yr old son was with us for part of the week and he had a great time with the skimboard we purchased at the salty dog shop across the street. there is a grocery store across the street, along with some other stores in a strip mall. You are about 2 miles north of the main daytona beach area, but you have much more beach to yourself and can still drive down / or walk to the main boardwalk/pier area if you want some action. The weather wasn't so hot when we were there, alot of stormy, windy weather...except the day we left of course! Even with the weather being a problem at times, we enjoyed every day. The beach was only open for driving on one day while we were there. I think everyone else avoided the area that week because the entire time we were there we only saw about 3 other guests at the hotel and at any given moment 2-3 people around the beach area 1/2 mile in either direction. Even the main pier / boardwalk area was fairly deserted with maybe 10-20 people at any given time. This is how we like it though...no crowds to deal with/lines to wait in. This was very nice for our first trip to Daytona Beach! It won't be our last....and we WILL stay here again!

I am going to the Hilton in Daytona beach and getting a 2 bedroom ocean front. I was told no Balcony. I want to know if the rooms are big and is there a kitchen and sofa in it. thanks

Hello
If you’re referring to Hilton Daytona Beach Resort/Ocean Walk Village, none of their room types accommodate a kitchenette or outside balcony, although the Cabana suites do have a sofa bed and have a separated living area.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Daytona Beach
Do seem to have the type of rooms that you have mentioned, including Two-Bedroom fully equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator, microwave, 2-burner stove and dishwasher
Best wishes

There is nothing as wonderful as an oceanfront balcony. I have stayed at the Daytona Bahama House, daytonabahamahouse.com, and the view from the balcony is breathetaking. If relaxing on the beach, taking in the sites, and enjoying unbelievable sunrises are on your list of things to do, then this is the place to take it all in. If you can't stay there this time around, make it a choice for next time.
