VISIT THE BOARDWALK. FULL OF FUN GAMES AND RIDES FOR THE THRILL SEEKER IN ALL OF US. RIDE IT IF YOU DARE.... MY FONDEST MEMORY OF THE BEACH IS THE DAY I SPENT WITH THE WIFE ON OUR ANNIVERSERY. WE SPENT A ROMANTIC EVENING JUST WALKING ON THE BEACH AND MAKING OUT UNDER THE MAIN STREET PIER. WAS EVEN MORE EXCITING WHEN WE ALMOST GOT CAUGHT.

wise guys is one of the newest drinking establishments on main street. they offer live entertainment and the decor is not as well worn as their main street neighbors. a nice place to have a drink and listen to music on main street. casual

Daytona International SpeedWay

Daytona Speedway is of course, famous for its NASCAR racing and the reknown Daytona 500 competition.

However, during Bike Week, the Speedway is open to enthusiasts who want to get a close up view of dirt bike races and other competitions.

Around the grounds outside the Speedway arena, you'll find vendors and motorcycle manufacturers like Yamaha, Suzuki, Triumph and of course, Harley Davidson...all displaying their latest designs and bikes.

"Daytona Beach in the Off Season"

Work brought me to Daytona Beach this month. It's off season so the city is not so busy and the beach practically empty. It's a nice time of year for private quiet strolls on the beach and delicious meals with no wait.

FUN FACT: Manatees, the large aquatic animals that have lived in Florida's waters for millions of years, are distant cousins of the elephant.

DAYTONA BEACH

Daytona Beach is world famous with it's 23 miles of white sands. Here they started car races in the early 1900's and the speeds achieved in those days were quite spectacular, with a top speed of 57 mph in 1902. It is here that Malcolm Campbell achieved the last land speed record of 276 mph driving the famous Bluebird.

Visit the NASCAR racing at Daytona International Speedway where there is motorcycle racing and go kart racing. Try deep sea fishing or play championship golf. See every corvette model ever made and visit the museums. Have great fun playing professional sports and entertainment or pay a visit to the theater.

Here in Daytona there is so much to see and do that you will never get bored. Alas I only spent one day here on the famous beach but I hope to return one day to explore further.
