is the nightlife busy in september

by groberts29

I am part of a group of twelve travelling to florida on Sept 18th for 7 nights. Will the nighlife (bars and nightclubs)still be busy in the daytona beach area. If so which is the the best spot/area to be in.

Also does anyone know if Orlando Downtown is good for a group of 12 males re nightlife

I'm not that familiar with Daytona night life, however check out Disney's Adventure Island which is mainly for over 21 crowd. The comedy club is for everyone, but the dance clubs are for the over 21 crowd. Here is a link to check out.

Daytona Beach isn't known for nightlife, in fact it sucks for nightife. You have to go to Miami for the good stuff.

Travel Tips for Daytona Beach

Is it palm trees you want?

by Pawtuxet

Plenty of palm trees around Daytona. Live oaks dripping with Spanish moss....all sorts of big old pine trees too. Once you remove yourself from the "main drags" and all the traffic, hotels, and madness....there are many very pleasantly planted roads and neighborhoods to enjoy the natural beauty of Daytona.
This scene of Embry Riddle Campus gives you a taste of the palm trees.....and the one waving belongs to me. :-)

I CAN'T AGREE WITH THE TIP ON HALIFAX. MY EXPERIENCES THERE WERE NOT THAT GOOD.
--ALL 3 TIMES. THE FIRST ONE BEING AN EMERGENCY. THE NURSES I HAD VIRTUALLY IGNORED ME AS MUCH AS THEY COULD. IT SEEMED THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY not TO DO ANYTHING IN THE WAY OF COMFORT MEASURES.
ON THE OTHER HAND, I HAVE BEEN TO ORMOND BEACH HOSP. AND THE CARE THERE WAS 180 DEGREES BETTER. DEFINITLEY RECOMMEND IT FAR AND ABOVE HALIFAX.

Daytona

Until the late 1700's the Timucuan Indians had enjoyed Daytona but then the European settlers moved in! A railroad was built, as was a hotel and a few tourists started arriving.

In 1902 Ransome Olds & Alexander Winston (racecar drivers) discovered that the hard-pocketed sands of the beach were good for something other than sun worship. They wagered a huge race along the water to prove it! In 1903 The Florida East Coast Automobile Association was founded. In 1904 the Winter Speed Carnival was started and for the next 30 years....

In the 1930's stock car racing became popular and by 1959 Daytona Seepdway was opened. Today Daytona still thrives on racing.

Daytona beach is beautiful and whereas once speeds in excess of 200mph were reached along the waters edge - nowdays you stick to 10mph!

Daytona -- R&R for the Disney-weary

"Daytona at a glance"

Florida visitors who spend 2-3 days tramping around Orlando theme parks may find themselves ready to kick back and relax at the beach. Daytona Beach is an excellent place to slow down for a day or two. Only an hour's drive from Orlando, and most motels are cheap (but of uneven quality.). The beach is wide, shallow and nice for swimming, surfing, walking, surf fishing or bike riding. Some sections are still accessible by car.
