to Fort Lauderdale Airport
by lindappp
I do not have a car, I do not have much $, I do not want to take a train. What is the flat rate to get to the airport. I can be picked up at a local location as far south as Boca if there is a shuttle.

You might want to look up the airport's Web site to see if they have any transportation suggestions; most airport sites have a list of the shuttle/bus services.
Or, if you're staying in a hotel (?) the front desk may be able to help.

Hello
I would suggest the Super Shuttle which will pick you up anywhere but if you dont have much money the best bet is the Tri rail train which will take you right to the teriminal with there free shuttle bus from the station.
You are in a different county than the airport so it may be possible but you could look up the city bus. It would take a long time and cost more than the train but they do have city bus service at the airport.
Just take the train already.
Travel Tips for Delray Beach
Visit the Morikami Museum...
by feline01
Visit the Morikami Museum located at 4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach FL Tel: 561-495-0233. One of the best museums/gardens I have been to in the world. This place has it all. Beautiful, tranquil Japanese gardens and extensive Japanese artwork. Very decent cafe as well. Check out http://morikami.org for more information.
If you hear the phrase...
by feline01
If you hear the phrase 'snowbird' be warned that they are not referring to an unusual flying animal. A snowbird refers to a person from the New York/New Jersey area, usually Jewish, who lives in Florida during the winter and NY/NJ in the summer. Get it, they migrate 1,000 miles twice a year??? It's not considered a compliment, usually the most annoying people in FL are the snowbirds.
Delray Live Oaks Park
by panthur
This is a 25-acre site just near the Office Depot corporate campus (south of Linton on Congress). It has a short paved path and a dirt path, the paved path ending up at a wooden deck overlook. When I went here I didn't see any animals except a few lizards, dragonflies, and a few birds. The park ranger told me that some turtles nest here, and the brochure indicates that wild coffee and beauty berry grow here, in addition to the saw palmetto in abundance and oak trees and sabal palms.
Don't come alone, according to the park ranger, because some wierdos apparently hang out there. Just before we arrived, he was propositioned by a random guy to get it on in the woods. Yikes.
Best Bagels in Town
by TRimer about Way Beyond Bagel
The owners of Way Beyond Bagel are from my home town of Port Washington New York- so let's just say that they know how to make a bagel. Our routine when we are visiting my family in Boca is to head over to the Starbucks for coffee (which is a few stores down) and then pick up bagels and cream cheese from Way Beyond. The bagels are wonderful- especially the everything bagel. They have great whitefish salad, nova, and other salads. The sandwiches are wonderful too. Not to mention Black & White Cookies, super almond-extracty Rainbow Cake, and the full line of Dr. Brown sodas.

"delray beach"
delray beach is a south florida beach town located between west palm beach and boca raton in southeast florida. the area around delray beach was visited by indians, hunters, and runaway slaves through the 18 th and 19 th centuries. the first structure built in delray beach was the orange grove house of refuge in 1876. the orange grove house of refugee was one of nine buildings built on the east coast of florida to aid ship wreaked sailors. in 1884 a group of african-americans from north florida established a settlement just west of the house of refuge near present day downtown delray beach. in 1894 william linton founded a farming community south of the orange grove house of refuge called linton station. in 1903 jo sakai established the yamato colony west of town. sakai recruited farmers from his home town of miyazu japan to grow pineapples. the yamato colony was disbanded during WWII an it's land was confiscated by the federal government. the town of delray beach experienced rapid growth and development during the 1920's florida land boom. today delray beach is a very nice southeast florida beach resort town. of interest to the tourist is it's beautiful beach, excellent golf, several interesting museums, and a number of good restaurants and bars downtown. delray beach is not as expensive as near by palm beach and boca raton.
