Delrays most historic hotel
The Colony and Cabana Club offers a true taste of Southern history....from the moment you walk into the tropical entryway, you have entered paradise! Birds are singing, you are in one of Humphrey Bogart's movies for sure! The furniture, the lighting, the colors all add to this wonderful experience! The staff is extremely service oriented, the rooms are bright, sunny and very floridian. The food is tripical and excellent as well. Enjoy sitting on the porch at night right on Atlantic Avenue where you can sip on a tropical drink, listen to live jazz and watch people walk by. Pet friendly I might add so you may be sitting next to a hapy golden retriever!
Unique Quality: Restored historic feel, very romantic!

Delightful in Delray
I have visited the Colony Hotel several times. The best way to describe this hotel is "charming". This is not the hotel for you if you must always stay at a chain hotel like the Marriott, Westin, etc, etc. If you prefer smaller, "boutique" style hotels then, this is the place for you in Delray. ( I should state that I HAVE stayes at both Marriotts in Delray as well as the Highland Beach Holiday Inn).
By and far the best part of this hotel is the private beach club. The club area serves lunch and there is a pool. This section of the beach is quieter than other parts of Delray Beach.
Unique Quality: Wood floors through out the building. Rooms are furnished with antiques. Usually not alot of sitting room in the hotel room itself- but then why would you sit inside your hotel room when visiting Delray Beach? (GO TO THE BEACH CLUB INSTEAD).

Great Place to Stay
I loved my stay at the Colony. Went down to Delray Beach for a friend's wedding. The place is so colorful & relaxed. Looks like Matisse decorated it. The lobby & patio are the perfect place to chill out with friends. They have lots of couches and setties. They also give you access to the Beach Club, a few miles away. They have a prime ocean front location and provide towels and those great covered lounges on the beach. You feel like you're on the French Riviera.

The 1926 Colony Hotel is a Delray Beach Historic Landmark and is a member of The National Trust for Historic Preservation's prestigious list of over 200 Historic Hotels of America. hotels, resorts and inns that combine history and architectural significance and share a sense of time and place in history.

It is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in - anywhere. And it has a non-smoking policy which makes it even better.
The Eggs Benedict for breakfast is pretty special too.
