Florida is known as the "Sunshine State" but that can change suddenly. In the heat of the summer, late afternoon thunderstorms can roll in. These kinds of storms are usually very short in duration and can carry a blow.

The Coastal dunes are under a preservation project. Some of these dunes range from insignificant sand hills to formations more than 50 feet high. The un-vegetated dunes are the ones vulnerable to destruction by waves and wind. Vegetating these dunes are important because they act like dikes against flooding and reduces the energy of storm waves. Signs which say ‘restoration dune project’ are the areas to stay off and keep to the public beach access ways.
I would LOVE to live in or Near Destin Fl. I can't tell you how many times I have checked the realtor sites and just DREAMED about buying a home somewhere in the Destin Area.
Destin is the very first place that My husband and I vacationed at. I think that's why it stays so special for us. We were so crazy for each other, we still are but in a milder way. ;-)
