Gotta eat at the Donut Hole

by laura4n8 about Donut Hole

The Donut Hole is one of the best breakfood food spots in the U.S. I'm not the only person who thinks so and so it's tough to get in the restaurant on any morning. I'd suggest an early breakfast or to stop here for dinner. Breakfast for dinner is SO great! I just die for the french toast!

Another Broken Egg

by Aliseeya about Another Broken Egg

Another Broken Egg is a locally-owned restaurant located right on Hwy 98 in Destin. I had heard many great things about this restaurant, especially concerning their omelets, so after church one Sunday my husband and I decided to give it a whirl.

To be frank, I was a bit disappointed. While the restaurant was adorable and provided a warm, intimate atmosphere for eating breakfast, the food was not up to par. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet, with tea and a raspberry scone. My expectation of an omelet is egg folded over various ingredients, making a gooey and yummy center. However, the ham and cheese omelet I ordered had the ham cooked into the egg, with unmelted cheese sprinkled on top. My husband had order a southwestern omelet, and had the same problem: all the ingredients were already cooked into the egg, and unmelted cheese on top. It was basically scrambled eggs folded over with cheese on top.

I really wanted to LOVE this restaurant, because (aside from the food), it would make for a great Sunday breakfast place. But, not only was the food disappointing and mediocre, the dishes were very overpriced. In addition, the service was very poor. I had ordered tea and a scone..and my scone was brought out with no tea. Before I could ask the waitress for some tea, she had already left. We were never checked on during the meal, and had to wait an extraordinary long time to recieve the check.

Despite my bad experience, many people living in Destin rave about this place. Perhaps I'm a picky breakfast eater, or perhaps my experience was a fluke. Either way, the restaurant was VERY crowded, with no place to wait for a table. You have to stand in a cramped corridor waiting 30+ min for a table.

Jet-Ski's

by Aliseeya

Renting jet ski's is a ton of fun and a great way to enjoy the beautiful waters surrounding Destin! Crab Island is an stretch of water in the Bay (near the Destin bridge) that has very shallow waters (4-10ft), and is THE place to hang out during the summer w/ your boat and jet-ski. You can have fun going super-fast in the ocean/bay, then go to crab island to hang out and swim. It makes for a fun day on the water!

great girls, great beaches, great fun

by bryINpoland

destin was a last minute trip i took this last summer to join some of the family who were down there.

the water was a beautiful blue/green just like hawaii and the people were just as beautiful. ofcourse i had such a great time but i dont know if it was because of where i was, but more of because of the people i was there with. a lot of the times it just all depends on who u travel with that makes for a great experience, and this was one of those cases.

i would have loved to have spent more time then i did in destin (like most places i travel to) but i am sure i will be back there again
