Everything is casual in Destin. Although there are a few upscale restaurants, for the most part casual wear is the norm. Make sure to bring bathing suits, flip-flops, and plenty of tank tops and shorts. Bring tons of sunscreen. Even on a cloudy day, slather it on. You'd be surprised at the painful sunburn you will get from even an overcast day! However, all the beach shops are stocked with plenty of sunscreens and aloe (for the sunburns!), so you can always just buy it here. If you like to snorkel, there are a couple of decent spots around the jetties. Bring snorkeling gear, but you can always just buy it here in the HUGE supersized beach stores. The same goes for sand toys for the kiddies.

The best seafood on the coast!

The food is caught fresh daily in the gulf, and the restuarant is located on the beach with a view of the ocean. The food portions are of good size but it is expensive. Howver it is the best seafood i have ever had. This would also probabley be the one evening that you don't want to wear your bathing suit and wrap to dinner. The atmoshere is casual formal. AND there is a jewelery shop at the front of the restaurant. My favorite dish is the reda snapper or deviled crab.

This year I had a great meal. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi & fried shrimp with a twice baked potato. That was a huge amount of fish they served. I could only eat half. I also really love the salad that comes with the meal. I think the almonds they put on top of the salad make it great!

There are plenty of watercraft rentals for snorkelling and diving or fishing. You need to have a Florida fishing license if you are between 16 and 64. Diving in these waters you will find 80 to 100ft of clarity.

The Beautiful Destin

This is the view from our condo in Crystal Beach. We stayed in Carribean Dunes. This was the second year that we stayed and are planning our third this July. You walk out on the balcony and it makes you want to run to the beach. I think we did that haha!!!

I just don't think that you could find a beach more beautiful!!!

There are many things to do in Destin. We were never bored. My favorite thing is the beach (that goes without saying).
