Walk along the beach, let the sun warm your skin, with water and sand between your toes, let the sea breeze refresh you. There are great golf courses, gulf aquariums, a zoo, great restaurants, boats and the best fishing. Definitely the ocean waves crashing on the shore, the salt spray and ocean smell.
The Boathouse
by Ewingjr98
The Boathouse became famous for its Jimmy Buffet down on the waterfront atmosphere. Though it still holds true to its roots in a tiny little shack on the water with a guy and his guitar, its popularity is having a negative impact. These days it is still fun, but it's always packed making it almost impossible to get a drink day or night. My last visit, I waited for 20 minutes and even stood at the bar for 10 minutes trying to get a drink and failed, so I ended up leaving. They are also famous for oysters on the half shell. This spot is also popular in the early afternoon for alcoholic fishermen to cool their heels between drinking binges.
The perfect blend of exceptional seafood
by spartan about Landry's Seafood House
The restaurant features an array of recipes that include fresh seafood selections from across the states, enticing appetizers, steak, pasta and assorted salads...attention to detail and very customer oriented is a highlight of this facility Any of the following will truly satisfy you: Landry's Famous Seafood Salad (with shrimp, crab fingers and jumbo lump crab meat), Shrimp Fettucine (shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes and green onions tossed in a creamy alfredo) and Pasta Primavera (angel hair pasta and fresh garden vegetables tossed in a light scampi butter).
Number 1 Rated Beach
by keeweechic
Destin was named "Number One Beach in the South" and one of the top three "Favorite Family Vacation Destinations" by the readers of Southern Living for 4 consecutive years. You can see why when you look at the sugar white sand and emerald waters.
Destin Cinema
by Aliseeya
The Destin Cinema is located off of Hwy 98, near Old Time Pottery. While it is less crowded and less expensive than Rave Motion Pictures, this is due to the fact that it's much older. The theaters are small, without stadium seating and the seats are less comfortable. Overall I only go to the Destin Cinema if their movie times are more convienent for my schedule -- otherwise I ALWAYS go to Rave. If you're on vacation, I would definently recommend going to Rave over the Destin Cinema.
