Sandpiper's Cove
Sandpiper's Cove consists of a community of beach rentals on Holiday Isle in Destin There are two sections: one located directly on the beach, the other is across the street. Due to Hurricane's Ivan and Dennis, most of the beachfront rentals sustained severe damage. As a result, most of the available condos are located across the street from the beach.
My husband's family stayed here during their trip to Destin. While the interior of their rental was very nice, modern, and adorable, I would not recommend staying here for a couple of reasons. First, you either have to walk across the street to the beach, or stay beachfront amongst other damaged condos; neither option is that great. In addition, Sandpiper's Cove is terribly unappealing. The community is very run down, and reminds me of a trailer park! All the rentals are on stilts, with ugly concrete areas beneath them. Another eyesore is a manmade pond, which is filthy! In addition, the pool facilties are mediocre, and are NOT beachfront.
The bottom line..stay elsewhere, unless you are trying to vacation with a smaller budget.
