Vacation Central!
by Jmill42
Destin is all about beaches and a beach vacation. That means lots of R&R on the beach, clubbing by night, and just recovering from whatever "real world" problems you have back home. This is the place where I have stayed 4 times. We keep going back because it is so awesome. Bar-B-Q'n on the grills on either side of the beach house. Good food in beautiful surroundings, with great friends... I can't think of a better way to spend my vacation.

Don't miss any of the beautiful beaches in this area . . . Take a day, get in the car and find Scenic Hwy 30A . . . As you drive down this road, you will go through Santa Rosa Beach, Grayton Beach, Dune Allen, Seaside and Seagove beach to mention a few . . . If you go past Seagrove, you can go on up to Panama City . . . Take the time to stop along the way and enjoy these towns . . . Pick a restaurant, any restaurant . . . There is not a bad one out of the bunch . . . This area is also known as the 'Florida Pan Handle'

Pompano Joe's
by fa330 about Pompano Joe's
We ate here at 10:00 on a Friday night after driving 6+ hours. We were so tired and irritable, but once we sat down to eat on the balcony on the beach, the smells and sounds of the ocean just washed it all away! Fried shrimp!(As always!)
destin crab hunting
by bryINpoland
crab hunting is one of my all time favorite attivities to do when i am at some beach somewhere in the world. its not a beach trip without a night of crab hunting and destin was a great spot for this activity.
the crabs were huge that night and they made for a lot of fun catching (even though tim let two of the biggest ones get away) dont worry none of the craps were harmed and were all returned to the water safely without a scratch.
be careful when crab hunting not to let one of those buggers get a hold of your finger. after all u are the one chasing them and they are trying to defend themselves, so when they get a hold of u, they let u have it. i guess we deserve it.
make sure to wear clothes u can get wet in, and a pair of sandles. bring some flash lights and some buckets or nets. if u have a big group u can split up and see who cant catch the most or biggest crab. it may sound silly but dont knock it until u try it. have fun and remember to return the crabs safely to the ocean
* feel free to rate this tip or any other of my tips, i am always looking to make improvements
