I have already booked my condo and airfare, and just check in the weather. My husband and two little girls were really looking forward to just hanging on the beach. I now read that the average temp is like 58 degrees in March. Will it be too cold to enjoy the beach at this time?
Depends on what you want to do on the beach. If you want to swim, I'd say WAY too cold. Swimming probably only in heated pool. My husband won't go into the water unless it is fairly close to 80deg F, so he would never consider swimming on the Gulf Coast even in late March.
If you just want to lie on the sand or walk on the beach, then you will be OK. Here are the AVERAGE highs, lows and water temperatures.

My favorite thing about Destin is by far the beaches. The sand on the beaches in Destin is very fine & white. It's like walking on sugar. I'm so used to the sand in this area that no other beach can compare to it. For me this is one of the best places in the world to go to the beach. Going to the beach of course.
This place looks like a fun waterpark. I've always wanted to go, but can never seem to convince my family it's a good idea. I guess they figure we're right near the ocean & there's a pool at the condo, so why pay to go to this place. I think younger children would really like it. Aside from the waterpark, they also have miniature golf.
My favorite spot for seafood in Destin is The Back Porch. It has great food and a great location. You can eat your fish, hushpuppies and slaw right on the water on a ... low and behold ... a back porch!
The atmosphere is great. The prices are good. The food is fabulous.
Make sure you prepare for a little wait if you go during prime dinner time.
I saw it and just laughed -- a trampoline with all kinds of slides and such off its side. Well ... although we were a good 20 years older than most of those who were playing on it, we just couldn't resist!
Trying to jump on a moving and swaying trampoline just made us laugh so hard -- which made it even harder to stand up and jump. You have to try the long arm that juts out from one side. One person perched precariously on the end while another person jumps on it to pops the perched person high into the air and into the water (be sure to hold your nose). Oh the laughs! This is a must!
A half-hour of fun on the trampoline costs about $10. However, we found out that it's easy to extend that time frame. : )
On Hwy 98 there is a place where you can ride dune buggies around a track! It looks like a lot of fun, but I've never done it. They also gave go-carts -- each go-cart looks like a NASCAR racer. Great place for kids, especially if they are NASCAR fans!
