the rod and gun club is a historic hotel in everglades city. in the 1920's it was a private club owned by barron collier. many famous and wealthy people were guests of collier at the rod and gun club. in 1972 the rod and gun club was bought by the bowen family and was opened to the public. a very interesting place to visit to experience southwest florida atmosphere in the early 20th century. the rod and gun club has a boat dock, restaurant, bar, and swimming pool. note: they only accept cash or travelers checks no credit cards.
