Hampton Inn & Suites Amelia Island

the hampton inn has an excellent location facing the intercoastal waterway in the historic district of fernandina beach. this property is new and offers all of the amenities of a good business type motel. a continental breakfast is included in the price. i recommend this hotel because of it's excellent location.

When it turned out that we could get a better rate from Hertz by turning the car in in Fernandina Beach, I decided to come and stay at this Hampton Inn. It has very individual decor, different from most Hampton Inns that I have stayed at.

The lobby had a stairway spiraling around up to the second floor, and a fireplace with a fire in it to take off the winter chill. In the ceiling of the lobby was a clock.

Their pool was on the second floor (as was the breakfast area with the 50+ item breakfast buffet and the large screen TV). We could look down from our room (which was in the back) onto the pool and out onto the marina. They have an workout room with four TVs and a scale.

Unique Quality: They provide hairdryers, coffee makers, 2-line speaker phones, and cable TV in every guest room. Our room had High-Speed Internet Access.

Directions: Take Exit 373 from I-95. Head east 16 mi. on A1A. After crossing the bridge to the island, look on your left for Ash Street (it is one block after the 6th light on the Amelia Island), turn left. At Second Street, turn right.
