More about The Addison on Amelia Island
Great first time experience
by TripAdvisor Member NativeFloridian14
Well, I've never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, so I didn't know what to expect. I figured with the price about the same as a hotel, why not give it a shot.
My husband and I were celebrating our 3rd year wedding anniversary.
The Addison was so romantic. Our room overlooked historic downtown Amelia Island and in the center courtyard was a tranquil water fountain to enjoy your breakfast by. Each morning we awoke to the most amazing breakfasts. Bob and Shannan were so hospitable. I was kind of afraid that we would get a bowl of cereal and possibly a bagel, or something of the like for a "breakfast", but this was not the case. Breakfast included orange pancakes, fresh fruit, smoothies, breakfast burritos, sausage, blueberry and peach coffee crumb cake and so much more, and of course hot coffee.
Our room included Turkish cotton towels, a jet tub and 600 thread count sheets (which felt like pure silk), and you can use your imagination - both of these help to set a romantic evening. :)
For a first time experience, this was well worth it and a lot of great memories were made at the Addison House and on Amelia Island.
What a Complete Experience
by TripAdvisor Member ESMBOB
Our stay was wonderful. The Inn was so relaxing and provided the perfect location to boating, the beach and local shopping but from such a relaxing environment. We would have an incredible breakfast looking over the beautiful fountain garden, then off to the beach for the day, back in time for a relaxing happy hour and then off to dinner only a short stroll away. The restaurants that Bob recommended were excellent. We particularly enjoyed Espana, a definite “must go to”. It seems that the little thing are what makes the difference and Bob and Shannon provide them all.
Wonderful experience!

The Addison on Amelia is WONDERFUL!!! Bob and Shannon are fantastic innkeepers. The Inn (inside and out) is beautiful, just as the pictures show. Our rooms were very clean and we received fresh linens every day. Breakfast out on the cozy porch overlooking the courtyard was very pleasant and a great way to start the day. Each breakfast was delicious and each unique. And – throughout the day, there was always something in the cookie jar if you wanted a treat! Happy Hours were a lot of fun, and a great way to meet folks, share stories, and get ideas of things to do and place to dine while visiting. Before you leave, sit on the comfortable rockers on the front porch and enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of Amelia Island! We are quite the critics when it comes to accommodations - you will not be disappointed!
Addison B&B is tops!
by TripAdvisor Member BAJCPA
We stayed at the Addison House B&B on Amelia Island over Labor Day weekend while taking sailing lessons. I was so grateful for the wonderful accomodations...luxorious linens, a quiet and dark room for sleeping, coffee right outside our room and a wonderful robe to slip on to get the coffee! Each morning's breakfast was fabulous, orange pancakes one moring and belgian waffles another morning. We are longing to return there and will recommend it to our friends and family!
Best lodging in Fernandina Beach/Amerila Island
by TripAdvisor Member 8knots
The Addsion is located on the northern end of Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach. It is within an easy walk of the shops on Centre St, the restaurants and the City Marina. The 14 rooms in 3 buildings are clustered around a private courtyard. They are very clean, comfortable, well-appointed and quiet. The hosts are always around and are wonderful. Breakfast and cocktail hour and home cooked and abundant.
We stayed there for the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. The combination of great music and a memorable lodging experience will bring us back.
Had a wonderful weekend at the Addison
by TripAdvisor Member Gvl1947
We met old friends for a chamber music festival in The Amelia Island area, and stayed at the Addison. We all spent an entire afternoon on the shaded and secluded deck that connects the three houses that make up the Addison, and enjoyed the ambiance not to mention the wine, and the draft beer at happy hour.
The rooms were pristine, and the bathroom was exceptionally large. The linens were top grade, and the bed luxurious. The two breakfasts that we had there were wonderful, and filling -- complete with an endless cup of great coffee.
We're already planning another get away weekend in Fernadina Beach, which we found to be a very fun place to visit and explore. We'll be booking a room at the Addison again.
Top drawer B and B experience

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Addison. From the moment we arrived and were greated by the innkeepers' daughter til the time we said goodby to Bob and Shannon, our more than gracious innkeepers, we had a truly exceptional experience. There was a plentiful gourmet breakfast served up by Shannon each morning and a truly happy, happy hour each day overlooking the courtyard fountain. It gave us time to mingle with the other guests and share a few laughs with our gracious and more than accommodating innkeepers. You won't find anyone on stage or off with a quicker wit than Bob who can deliver one-liners with the best of them. The place is ideally situated within a short walking distance to all the attractions in this quaint little town. The rooms are very comfortable, nicely decorated and boy did we like the spa showers after a day at the beach. We made use of the beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and bicycles and we did find time in the evening to test the rockers on the front porch. Don't miss it.
Outstanding in every way!

We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and I am proud we chose the Addison on Amelia Island. It was beautiful and relaxing. The breakfast's were something we looked forward to every day and were never disappointed. This B&B had a Happy Hour to meet and greet and this was something we also looked forward to. Such a nice change from any other B&B that we have ever stayed at.
The town was also extremely laid back with everyone we had the opportunity to talk with we found kindness. This little island is a hidden gem.
The Addison - A True GEM!
by TripAdvisor Member L7Stayton
The Addison on Ameila is an elegant oasis in the heart of Amelia Island! The fabulous innkeepers, Bob and Sharron, were available 24 hours a day and offered amazing suggestions for entertainment and dining, which allowed us to take full advantage of the highlights that Amelia has to offer. Our room was immaculate, decorated very tastefully, and included a large jetted tub and private balcony ~ the perfect formula for supreme relaxation after a full-filled day at the breach. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, including scrumptious fresh muffins, fruit smoothies, and breakfast quesadillas. Further, the welcoming Happy Hour was filed with remarkable wine, beer, and conversation.
Simply put, the Addison has everything one could ask for in a B&B! Keep up the great work Bob and Sharron!

Best B&B ever!
by TripAdvisor Member elismountain
The Addison on Amelia is by far the best B&B I have ever stayed. From luxurious linens to i't s romantic fountain courtyard, the A@A offers top service and excellent morning meals. I have stayed in many B&B's from Maine to Key West to California, and this is by far the best combination of service, quality, and location I have found.
You need only a couple of changes of clohting to take with you because they will provide you with everything else. From bicycles, beach chairs and towels, to efficient concierge service, the Addison provides anything and everthing you need to ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable time. Our bathtub was large enough to snorkel in!!
Five star quality restaurants are within a few minutes stroll and the beach is a mile or so from you, so you NEVER need to get into your car to get anywhere. We absolutely LOVED it and plan to return again.
