After spending a week at a rather icky place up on A1A, I was ecstatic to find the Ask Me Inn.
This is a 3-story place in the shape of a ‘U’ with a very nice little courtyard in the center filled with all manner of plants, garden fountains, garden fairies, and patio furniture with this huge gorgeous hand-painted seascape mural going up the steps. It’s just so damn cute. I rented a room for a month in August 2004.
There is no tub, but a nice sized shower. There are plenty of towels and the water pressure is great.
My room happened to be in the back so it has it’s own patio complete with a bar-b-que grill.
Parking here is off-street, free, and assigned so you never have to worry about finding a place.
The air conditioning is an older window unit but it does the job quite nicely… almost too good.
There is a laundry room in the back with one washer and dryer unit. It runs $1.50 each to wash and dry and the machines work very well.
The owner of this place is Scarlett Rabalais. There are many different rooms and rates to choose from. Scarlett is happy to show you a few before you decide to stay with her. She’s quite proud of her rooms, and rightly so.
