Re: MIAMI OR FTL?

If you stay in the downtown/Las Olas area, it's quite possible. There's shops, restaurants, museums, an intracostal cruise, and even a theater if you want to catch a show (the museum and theater are in the Arts District along the river walk where they have open air jazz sessions. The beach is usually within walking distance of a lot of the hotels there.

Hope that helps!

Travel Tips for Fort Lauderdale

Go the beaches near Las Olas...

by davidb4732

Go the beaches near Las Olas Boulevard...it's the best place to relax in Fort Lauderdale. You can also go to Flamingo Gardens...it's got about 60 acres of all kinds of wildlife...like gators, flamingos, and birds. My favorite was going to the Everglades...we got to feed about a dozen semi-wild gators and they would swim up within inches of the airboat we were in. They would eat marshmellows of all things. Go figure! The everglades

SCUBA DIVING

by moiraistyx

If there is one thing Jason really likes to do, it's scuba diving. He has his own tanks, fins etc. Before you can go scuba diving you have to have the appropriate certification. The website listed provides a decent list of some of the companies that have scuba trips as well as beaches where one can go to. fins, mask, tank etc.

A Lounge with Incredible Views

by cjg1 about Cosmopolitan Club(Navigator of the Seas)

The Cosmopolitan Club sits high on the top deck of the ship. The club has nighlty entertainment and music. There is plenty of seating and the chairs and couches are quite comfy. The service was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and our drinks appeared rather quickly.

The views from the Club are incredible and it's a great place to relax with a drink. Liz and I enjoyed an afternoon here enjoying some drinks while the sun set. Casual

Casablanca cafe

by musbars about Romantic oceanfront manse offers tasty but inconsi

I was enjoing the ambience of soft ocean breezes on the patio of a beautiful historical home.
This restored, two-story 1927 Mediterranean Revival house recreates the ambience of the piano bar where Bergman broke Bogie's heart. Moroccan lamps, lazily paddling ceiling fans and ochre-hued, rough stucco walls add cachet. Watch the moon rise over the Atlantic from the terrace or upstairs patio. Young servers are exuberant, friendly and efficient. Vividly fresh Mediterranean Rim cuisine satisfies but at times falls short.
Prime stakes,
seafood,
salads,
chiken,
lamb,
daily chef's specials like fish of a day with shrimps and clam's sauce.
Morrocan coffe with Tiramisu. Yummy!

Good Pizza

by cjg1 about Prego Pizzeria (Emerald Princess)

Onboard the Emerlad Princess we were able to have pizza from 11am-midnight right by the pool. The pizzeria had several pizza ovens churning out Margherita, Bianco and a specialty pizza of the day. The pizza was actually very god with a thin and crispy crust. Liz and I have several slices of pizza during our crusie and were always very satisfied. The pepperoni pizza was good but I prefered the plain cheese best.
