what will the weather be like end of sept 07 just booked 2 weeks. help!!!!!

i have just heard about the hurricaine. and have booked the last 2 weeks in sept 07, for my wife and 3 kids. will it still be bad weather? does anybody know how bad it will be then. will we get any beach time?!!!! we have been so looking forward to our visit.

Anytime in Sept. or Oct. there can still be hurricanes. The official end of the hurricane season is Nov. 30 but they rarely are seen that late and the later in the season, the less intense.
You have a better chance of not having a hurricane while you visit than actually having one.
Hurricanes give many days notice so there will be no surprises. You primary concern will be that no hurricanes like Wilma come through FLL before you get there so that all the beaches, hotels, restaurants, attractions, roads, etc are in good shape.

Good advice from Ann.
Even during hurricane season, (which is also rainy season), it seldom rains all day.
You will usually start off with beautiful morning weather, with storms rolling in by early - mid afternoon.
Usually only lasting a couple of hours and then, by late afternoon, early evening, the weather will have cleared again!
Enjoy your time here!
As Ann mentions, if there is a storm coming, you will have plenty of notice and be able to either decide on coming or, postponing your plans.

A great tradition in the states and a particular specialty of Ft. Lauderdale is Happy Hour. This institution draws crowds out to the bars when they might otherwise not be busy. Either you get free food, reduced drinks, or both. The best is two-for-one drinks, like at Tarpon Bend. You buy a drink or beer, and they give you a wooden coin that you can exchange for another drink. The catch: it has to be during Happy Hour. You can save them for your next visit. Typical times are 4:00-7:00 PM. Here’s a shot of when my nephew was down this spring at Tarpoon Bend.

The elbo Room is the stuff of legend.There's not much to it, it is on the corner of A1A and Los Olas, right on the beach. No frills here, it is basically just an open bar that locals and tourist alike can stop for a drink on the beach. They have live music and an upstairs patio. Not much, but there is something about being right on the beach, wearing your bathing suit and listening to music. Always, ALWAYS a great crowd. I saw someone wearing a loin cloth here once.

Greek food and spirits. Come for the atmosphere. Belly dancers encourage diners to join them on the tables. At times everyone dining gets on the tables. Food can be ordered Meze style (similar to Spanish tappas). Everyone shares. Food was very good. Entertainment fantastic. Warning: This is a loud and interactive restaurant. Don't go unless your a willing participant! Order meze style and share with your companions. MELITZANOSALATA = GRILLED EGGPLANT,LEMON,PARSLEY was very good. TZATZIKI = HOMEMADE YOGURT, CUCUMBER, GARLIC,DILL also very good spread on greek bread.

If you're anywhere in South Florida you have to take advantage of the warm climate and the endless beaches. If you haven't tried watersports before this is the time to do it. Try anything from jet-skiing to ocean kayaking and I'll guarantee you'll have fun.
