early arrival

by nurena

What's open for an early breakfast in the 33315 area?

Re: early arrival

by Aloe9678

I haven't been to that part of Florida, but I'm going to take a guess that an IHOP, Denny's or Waffle House, or possibly a local, non-chain diner, will be open. Waffle House is particularly good for people-watching.

Travel Tips for Fort Lauderdale

Port Everglades

by lolitajane

I was told that Ft. Lauderdale is a beautiful city, which I would have liked to visit, but it'll have to be some time in the future. We drove from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale to take the cruise, departing from Pt. Everglades in Jan 24th, 03. Well, of course taking the cruise! I had never cruised before, therefore I was quite excited about it...For those who have never tried this wonderful experience before I recommend you to think seriously about it fo your next holidays!

GO ROLLER BLADING

by moiraistyx

If there is one thing Ft. Lauderdale has a lot of, it's roller bladders. There wasn't a day during my visit that I didn't see someone whizzing down the side walks or in the streets with their roller blades on. Jason is an avid roller bladder and often skates in marathons and fun raisers. There are skate parks available for those less than brave when it comes to dodging traffic. roller blades, elbow pads, knee pads, helmet and wrist guards

Cocktails by the Pool

by cjg1 about Mermaid's Tail (Emerlad Princess)

The Mermaid's Tail is one of the more crowded bar on the ship due to it's close proximity to the pool and food options. Fortunately they have plenty of tables surrrounding the bar so if you can't find a stool a table will be available. Liz and I enjoyed grabbing a drink here to go with one of our snacks. The margarita's are very good and refreshing. We enjoyed lounging about and relaxing while having a nice drink.

Excellent Food

by doolemma about Bristo Las Olas

Located on Las Olas Blvd. A small seating capacity, both indoors and out. Like a Europian cafe and also with excellent servce. We only sampled about six appetizers, fresh swordfish, and New York strip steak.

Good Food and Excellent Service

by cjg1 about Botticelli(Emerald Princess)

Botticelli was one of the dining rooms on the Emerald Princess. After our first night where we tried anytime dining we decided to have a fixed table and dining time with our friends. The dining room was pretty basic and not the grand dining room we have had in the past on Royal CArribean cruise ships. As cruise food goes I would say this is good food not as spectacular as some other cruises we have taken. Several nights stood out with excellent foods such as King Crab legs, bananas foster, strawberry shortcake...

What really stood out was our waiter Eduardo who was extremely attentive and hysterically funny. We had a great time at his table and looked forward to any meal with him.
