    Marriott's Miraculous Views

    by

They treat you like royalty, regardless of who.. Their staff is impeccable, helping w/ your every need.. Work w/ you on making your accommodations the best they can.. They have everything you need in every room and are very modern and extremely clean. That is, by far, my favorite out of many..And will be the only Hotel I will book in the future..

Unique Quality: The facilities are impeccable.. The pool is on the 3rd floor, I believe, and so it is above the streets below, for added privacy... But, above all else is the views.. Spectacular, beautiful views.. In one word......SPLENDOR....

Directions: The North end of Ft. Lauderdale Beach..

Marriott BeachPlace Towers-PreCruise Stay

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed at the Marriott BeachPlace Towers the day before our cruise departed. The taxi fare from the airport was about $22 with tip. The room was more than adequate. (king bed/sitting area/microwave/refrigerator/balcony). The pool is located on one of the elevated floors so it is not beach front which was not a problem for us. We ate at Max's which had an early dinner special. The hotel has a small pizza hut/deli/grocery store. You are not far from Las Olas Blvd if you want to take a walk. In the morning we did take a walk along the beach front before we left for the terminal.

We just came back from our stay at BeachPlace Towers in Ft. Lauderdale. We had a wonderful time and the room itself was very nice. A spa tub, nice sized rooms, with a great balcony that overlooked the ocean. We liked that we were close to some shops, and restaurants and we loved eating at Sloppy Joes. They had awesome food! If you have a room facing the ocean you will hear the bands/music from below...which can be annoying if you wanted to go to bed early. The first night there we were really exausted from traveling all day so we went to bed early and were kept awake from the music..but overall it wasnt that bad. We did rent a car one day and had to park in the parking garage which can be a little icky. You have people parking there that are going to the shops and restaurants but they do have designated areas for hotel guest. Overall we really liked the BeachPlace Towers. The room was very nice, and the pool was nice and relaxing as well.
They also have construction going on, on both sides of the hotel. But the noise was at a min. and we really didnt notice the construction.

Location, Location, Location

Great location!! Just got back staying there for a week in the 2 bedroom suite on the 16th floor. We had a great view of the ocean. The beach was across the street. The restaurants and clubs were right downstairs @ Beachplace Plaza. The Riverfront Mall was just a few miles away. However, parking was difficult at times to find. They do need to expand the space for the hotel guests. I definately would stay there again.

Not really for small children

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed here just before Hurrican Jeanne. We did have to leave one day early but I was ready to go home. The resort is a large bustling hotel. And the parking lot is just aweful!!! I had four dings on my new mini van in just one week.

I have two children ages 1 and 2 and I don't think I will return until they are 21.

You have to cross the street to get to the beach but before you can cross the street you have to walk threw a "mall" with Hooters and Fat Tuesdays and many other bars and retail shops. Now if your single and love to party...this is the place.

The accomodations were nice although you can never get rid of the smoke smell in hotel rooms. The extra activites cost a bit much and the pool is small. The hot tubs were nice. There is construction on both sides but it wasn't bad. Just ask for an intercoastal view.

Great Place

Stayed at Beachplace the second week of June 2004. Just now getting around to writing this. This place was awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and always helpful. The parking was not a problem at all. The attendant Stephen was very nice. The rooms were very nice and the view was great. We faced the inner coastal waterways, but could see part of the beach, as we were on a corner. The beach is right across the street. What a location. There was construction going on, but it we did not even notice it. We spent almost every night out on our veranda looking at the city lights until midnight. No complaints at all. My wife and I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

A great vacation for all

Everything about this hotel was great!! The noise was not bad at all (some people just bellyache about anything!!). I did stay on the intercoastal side which was fine. The beach is a tad dirty but was not that bad. The ocean was great! The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

You are in the middle of all the action in Ft Lauderdale and there are plenty of restaurants close by or within 5 minutes drive (Las Olas). I have 2 kids who love the beach and they had a great time. The 3 for 1 drink special at Max's hit the spot as well as the $3.99 lunch menu (all items are at this price for lunch) and the portions were filling.

Once the constructon is completed on either side, this will be the place to be. The St Regis is on one side which will give the area a more upscale presence.

ENJOY!!!

Not the usual Marriott resort

by TripAdvisor Member EnglishCath

We stayed for the second week of November. For a Marriott resort the facilities were rather disappointing. The pool is very small and the only outside area is around the pool on the terrace. At least half of this area is in the shade by 2pm so it can get rather crowded in the sunny areas. I was almost touching elbows with the stranger laying on the sunbed next to mine.

Also the pool music is almost impossible to get away from if you don't like it.

Unfortunately a huge hotel is being built right on the edge of this terrace on one side and another about 15 metres away on the other side. I imagine that these will shade the terrace even more when completed.

Our suite was very nice with a comfortable bed and lots of space. The washer/dryer was an added bonus. We had requested a room on the rear of the hotel and this was a good choice. It was not noisy and we were able to sit in the sun on our balcony in the late afternoon.

We had no problems with the taxi dropping us at the lobby and picking us up at the same spot. We hired a car for a couple of days and parking was easy.

I would not recommend this resort for children.

Try not to buy anything in the resort shop - it is very overpriced compared even to the 7-11 which is just down the street.

Pretty Good 1ST Time; Trying Again 2ND Time....

I rate this place above average simply because Ive never stayed in this type of facility before so I dont really know what to compare it with. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. During peak season of last year (Jan 1 - Jan 9 04).The folling capsulizes my opinions on the individual services that were realized during my stay.

Room: Wonderful. More than adequate for a couple with child. Full kitchen and washer/dryer. Nice and clean. Ocean view with balcony was beutiful to wake up and have coffee. Nite time was a little noisy even on the 15th floor.

Service: Rather aggressive sales people trying to sell timeshares to newbie visitors. Staff was unremarkable.

Parking: Awkward at times and the garage was full many times. Once parked, you must go up a few levels via elevators (see below) to get at least to the main lobby.

Beach: Across the main street and public. Convenient but since its public can become heavily populated and dirty. Transient busy atomosphere.

Maid: Not always consistent in keeping rooms clean and level of service but not a big deal to us since we were out of the room all day everyday until after dinner.

Restaurants: We always ate out both lunch and dinner and never on site (ground level terrace). The restaurants/bars below are not part of the hotel and are on ground level in a terrace type of setup. Some small boutiques are scattered amongst them. Nitetime can be noisy since this hotel is located smack dab in the hub of Fort Lauderdale Beach nite scene.

Prices: We thought the price of the suite was reasonable since if we chose, we couldve cooked all of our meals in our suite (full kitchen).

We are returning this year Dec 27 - Jan 9 and have booked a 2 bdrm suite (2 of our older kids have cancelled) although as it turns out we didnt need a larger one afterall. We left many voicemail messages with "sales" rep. to cancel and rebook smaller suite, yet none of them were returned. We're stuck with 2 bdrm and have to spend more $ than necessary.

Hopefully, our second time there will not be a negative one and will be consistent with our first visit. Stay tuned for my input!!
