Cruise Ship transportation and Hotel
by PamAnderson
I need a recommendation for a nice hotel that can provide transportation from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to the hotel and then to the cruise ship. After the cruise I need to go back to the hotel for one night and then to the airport.

We expect to be going to Fort Lauderdale later this year and "Cettman" has promised info so if you look up this members homepage and make contact you should get an answer if nothing else comes through. Marg

Both the Hilton and Sheraton have hotels about 5 minutes from the airport. They offer shuttle service to the ports for ~$10 per person.

I usually stay at La Quinta in Hollywood, FL. They offered pick-up from the airport, and free shuttle to the cruiseport. The same in reverse.
Unfortunately their rates have skyrocketed for my upcoming FLL stay, so I will be staying elsewhere. I've enjoyed my two stays with them.
Hope that helps!!
Travel Tips for Fort Lauderdale
A dream come true!
by SeaBreezeUSA
Naturally my fondest memeory is the sand and surf!!! I am attracted to the water like a bee to honey!!! Florida has the prettiest beaches and I would guess the longest beach anywhere in the world. (if you stretch them all together). I have been to beaches all over the world, and my favorite are definitely in Florida.
You must see these in person to truly appreciate them.
Some Indian reservats are...
by Pavlik_NL
Some Indian reservats are situated in the land-inward suburbs of Fort Lauderdale and can be visited to witness some aligator-wrestling-matches (if you're intrested). Besides this there are little shops where the Indians sell local artwork. Be sure you buy genuine, as there is also some fake stuff sold. The Florida Indians had - because of there enormous different environment - a very different livestyle from the more famous Indians further West (for example the Apaches).
Tarpon Bend.
by richiecdisc about Tarpon Bend.
Large open windows and doors make for an almost outdoor feel, this boisterous bar is home to the best happy hour in town. Two for one drinks from four to seven draws them in and it stays busy all night after that too. Casual but smart.
Delicious Food and Good Service
by cjg1 about Coppelia(Navigator of the Seas)
We were assigned to the early dinner seating which was 6pm in the Coppelia Dining Room. There are three main dining rooms onboard and each were named after a ballet. Our dining room was on deck 4. It was a beautiful dining room with lue furnishings and accents. We were seated at a table for six (yet only had two dinner guests with us). Our table was right by the window with nice ocean views.
Our waiter and waitress Rajah and Ivorene were very friendly and attentive. We were handed menus and the wine list as soon as we were seated. We decided to have champagne with dinner and ordered a bottle. As an appetizer Liz and I chose our favorite; the Vidalia Onion Tart. The tart is so delicious and creamy; we always order it when it's on the menu. As a main dish I chose the shrimp ravioli. The ravioli was good but I wasn't crazy about the sauce. Liz has the Black Angus Steak with herb butter. As always she loved it (it is one of her favorite entrees on the boat). For dessert I had the bluebery crumble with ice cream which I love. Liz had the Strawberry Pavlova which she always looks forward to eating.
The food was incredible as always and the service was top notch. I always look forward to dinner in the main dining room. The food was awesome as always but my favorite part was the champagne. We normally don't drink with our meals but I thouht why not...we're on vacation. Liz loves champagne so she didn't need to be convinced to order a bottle. The champagne was a perfect compliment to our meal. Our waitress Ivorene kept our glasses full throughout the meal. By the time dessert came our way we had finished the whole bottle.
The champagne was extra but rather inexpenisve at only $43 for the bottle.

Located in the famous Galeria Mall this restaurant has one the best selections of wines. The food comes in smaller portions than avarage restaurants. The service is friendly. It is probably the first place you can not make a reservations, you have to come and wait for a wile. The lounge is very nice and the life musitian is playing for you. The food menu changeas every 3 month.
This restaurant is famous by watching the calories. Anything is good contains only 5 calories. Try theoir famous deserts.
