Sheraton Beach Front

We were there for 6 days. Our air conditioner was useless. It has some kind of sensor and if u dont shut the sliding door and the door sign doesnt go off, your room stays hot. After the 1st day the maintence man explained to us.... ok but that didnt work either....the room stayed hot!!!! We also asked where a microwave was to warm up food. THEY DONT HAVE ONE. HOW CAN U NOT HAVE ONE? People come with babies and need to warm up there food and milk..
The room could of been cleaner. They definately dont DUST!!!
and the TV, has no menu to show you whats playing, just a guide with all the channels. No listing of movies/shows, etc.
And if you want a umbrella for the beach thats extra. With the cost allready being spent that should be free.
And yes there set up is very unusaual...
THE STAFF, VERY FRIENDLY...!!!!!

Nice Hotel on the Beach

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. I had a 5th floor ocean view room. The hotel is 3 seperate buildings. The layout is awkward but once you learn your way around it is simple. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean and well maintained. The only negative was that the windows in the room don't open. I would love to have been able to listen to the ocean and have a sea breeze come in as I slept.

Great place to stay.

I stayed here with my family and really liked how relaxing it was. I'ts close to the marina and to restaurants if you are willing to walk a bit north on A1A. It's nice though, because you are by the beach.

Unique Quality: My daughter really liked the Wreck bar inside the hotel. It had a neat look to it, and the mermaid seen swimming in the pool was really a surprise. She wouldn't stop talking about it!LOL!

Not the best Yankee

Room 358 April 2001.The hotel itself was acceptable but the room we had smelt damp and musty even though the weather outside was warm. At $199 per night this was expensive for what we got. Its location is fine for the Cruise Liners being only about a mile away and Ft Lauderdale airport (FLL) 6 miles (transport cost about $15) or Miami (MIA) 30 miles (transport by road approx $35 ). I see Sheraton have dropped their prices on this property since our last stay, and hope they also have improved the quality of their carpets etc at the same time.

Unique Quality: Good beach. Watertaxis are available on the road side of the hotel, which for $15 day pass, enable you to travel to a number of stops along their route

Best feature: the Beach

We spent a day and a half here, while preparing to board a Christmas cruise to the Caribbean. The lobby and restaurant were nice - and it was fun taking pictures in the swimmimg pool bar of "Analyse This" fame. But the room itself was a disappointment, in view of the prices charged.

Our room was on the third floor - which could have offered a nice partial view of the beach -- had there been a balcony or even a window that opened. But the moisture-laden double pane glass gave the appearance of a rainy day, all day. In addition, the humidity level in the room gave it an overall moist and musty feeling that was less than pleasant.

The bathroom was clean and sparsely furnished, the beds a bit hard, but adequate. Overall I'd would visit here again, to walk the grounds or dine in the Nautical-themed restaurant -- but would go elsewhere to book a room for a restful night's sleep.

Unique Quality: The hotel had 2 nice, compact swimming pools, an outdoor boardwalk and a Tikihut bar facing the beach, which would be lovely to enjoy in warm spring or summer weather. However, they were all closed over the cool and windy days we were there.

To the BEACH!

I have stayed at the Yankee Trader, not at the Yankee Clipper, but they offer the same premium quality. The suites offer a superb view of Fort Lauderdale Beach and all the amenities of a large, four star hotel. There is a great health spa at the Yankee Trader, as well as convention and meeting facilities for those of you that come on business. There are also two heated pools and great tennis courts. I liked having an overpass to walk to the beach and avoid the traffic below.

Unique Quality: The proximity to the beach offers incredible views...you will be in the lap of luxury...just meander to the pool, dahling, and order a Mimosa while you work on your celebrity tan! No doubt about it: This is Florida at its best! :-)

A great sightseeing and the best location!

One of the finest resorts on beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach, the ocean is your playground and the beach is your backyard. It is conveniently located nearby to world-class shopping, championship golf courses, exciting nightlife, and cultural and sports venues.

I would recommend it. Close to Las Olas Blvd which has great shopping and night life. Beautiful beaches and great restaurants right there!!!
