The service was good. the hotel is perfect situated. Near beach. public transportation, restaurants, shops and water taxi. If we would visit Fort Lauderdale again we will choose the same hotel again

We came for an annual conference and were put in this hotel, not by choice. Last year, we stayed at Embassy Suites, near the convention center, at it was an EXCELLENT experience. This place, unfortunately, is just...yuck. Old, run-down. Our "oceanside view" was more of a view of the intersection altho every room does have an "ocean view" in that they all face the ocean. Noisy hotel ~ you'd swear you were in the heart of Manhattan. Not child or family friendly, more of a place for drunk college kids on soring break. In the hearty of many, many, many tattoo & piercing parlors, but also directly across the street from the beach. This place is low rent yet overpriced for what you get. The toilet didn't flush properly. There was no place to hang your towel in the bathroom. The towels felt like cardboard. There weren't enough electrical outlets, for things like cell phone chargers, computers, etc. Not even a desk, just an old round table shoved in the corner that was desperately in need of paint. I moved the bed against the wall, as I had an infant with me and no king-sized beds were available ~ and, when I did, there was dried up food under the bed and a patch of peeling paint & mold on the wall. The lamp was dingy and looked as if it had been burned. Another lamp had wiring that looked so old that I decided not to even plug it in. This place is just yuck.

We stayed here for one night in Sept 2004. One night was more than enough. The first thing you notice is the mis-matched furniture in the lobby, then the concierge desk with no concierge, then you wander up to the front desk and find an indifferent clerk. sweeeet. (not) The rooms were funny as hell. All kind of wanting to be art deco but giving more the feeling of bad 60s schlock. The windows with the fabulous view are all screwed shut and the curtains are duct taped on. I kid you not. The bathroom was a hoot. The shower was not draining right so the whole room flooded, and the toilet overflowed. The only real thing going for this property is it's great location on A1A at Sunrise.
They have a pool, but it's in back instead of having a nice ocean view, and you have to schlep through the lobby to get a drink and bring it back to the pool if you get thirsty. The weight room is pretty much a big closet with a treadmill and a bike. The restaurant is very dark and just plain bizarre looking. They tried to double our bill, but corrected it rapidly when called on it. Parking is off-site and $10 per day. There are plenty of older hotels in the neighborhood that make this one look like a palace.
The location, across the street from the beach can't be beat. The rooms have balconies and there is a good size pool area, clean. Covered parking.
