A great way to start an evening....
Has anyone ever arrived at the port and booked a last minute cruise on the spot? If so, how far ahead of the sailing time was it?
Hello, just browsing through and your question caught my eye, I am a travel agent that specializes in cruises. To answer your question, pre 9/11 you could do just that in fact many people did especially at large ports like Miami where you'd have 5 ships departing about the same time. Now, due to security reasons, you cannot just show up anymore. All bookings and your immigration data must be entered into the cruise lines system a few days to a week in advance.
There is an ATm machine by the Guest Relations Desk if you ned cash. There really is no need for cah aboard the ship since every purchase and even tips can be charged to your seapass acount. So avoid thhe high ATM fees and if you need cash bring it ahead of time.

It is the shopping heaven. Some stores are so large;
There are 2 food courts and outside, a movie theater. Especially, clothes and footware.
Could you imagine my wife launched in such a mall with a Visa Card....?

I can not begin to explain how massive this carrier is. Especially when you are going along side of it in a little boat.
Pines ale house, the place has a prime rib special on Thursdays that can't be beat. You even get a bucket of 5 beers for 5 bucks. And what a great selection of draft beers!
The atmosphere is great and is always hopping late in the evening. What a great place to meet people. The place has specials everyday; from steak to seafood. They're all great!
Downtown Fort Lauderdale... always with so many activities on the weekends...
Las Olas Blvd is a great attraction... no only for shopping or window watching. At night is the point to see in to be seen. With many cafes, restaurantes, dancing clubs.
