Quaint little Hotel

I stayed at this hotel on several occasions when it was the Flying Cloud. It is a quaint, little hotel (personally owned, not a chain) with friendly service. It is nestled within a residential area and just a few short blocks right to the Ft. Lauderdale Beach. I felt perfectly safe no matter the time of day here. The pool was nice enough and the grounds are gorgeous! There is a griling area to take advantage of and used to have a mango tree to get fresh, ripe fruit from. Dont know if it still there. But a great, comfortable place for a family if you are not looking for all the glitz that a chain hotel would offer. Going to book a room for this years vaca and hope it is still the same as it was several years ago when named Flying Cloud.

Unique Quality: The grounds for sure.

Flying Cloud Motel

$59 for a garden view efficiency in January, prices vary through the season, check above link for prices.

Unique Quality: I booked a garden view efficiency here my first visit and was really pleased with it. I expected a studio and basically got a small apartment. Three separate rooms: kitchen, living room(small) and bedroom. And I could see both garden area and pool area for the garden view price, $59 per night! Though watch out if you get a room with two twin beds put together to make a king, I kept sliding down the middle! They’ve got barbecues you can use if you feel like a BBQ one night.

Only a two block walk to the beach and an easy walk to the attractions.
My next stay here I actually got two double beds which was nice, and a bigger apt. It cost a bit more, but worth it.
If you happen to be French speaking this would be great, the owners are French Canadians and it’s popular with people from Quebec.
