Edison Festival of Light
by grandmaR
We happened to be in Fort Myers at about the same time as they were celebrating Thomas Edison's birthday. They had dedicated the statue under the Banyon Tree in the parking lot the day before. The HAM radio club had places set up both in the parking lot and in the grounds of the Edison house where you could send a message to anywhere in the world for free.

Ft. Myers with the Capital University Softball Tea
by MBeezy120
"Gametime"
The Capital University Softball team plays in Ft. Myers every spring in the Gene Cussic Classic which hosts tons and tons of college baseball and softball teams each year. This year, I travelled with the team as a Senior Athletic Training Student to help the girls stay healthy and of course to get some sun while it snowed in Ohio. The girls went 6-2 and only lost to teams that were ranked in the DIII national polls. An awesome start to hopefully and awesome year. Good luck Girls!!!!
"Randomness With the Softball Team"
If we werent at the softball field playing, we were hangin around the hotel getting a tan or eating. As it was cold for a few of the days we were there, we tried to soak up all the rays we could and toughed it out but spent the nighttime in the hotel hallway. Other times were spent down by the pool with the baseball teams that were staying there as well ;-)
"Ft. Myers Beach"
On our fourth day in Ft. Myers, we had a beach day planned. Turns out it was cold and rainy and not too much fun. Well except when Lindsay lost her flip flop off the pier and I was elected to go get it. Too bad coach wouldnt let me....that wouldve been an interesting trip into the freezing cold water.
