Pretty hotel by the water
I stayed here some time ago, in 2000, so I don't know if the hotel has fallen to disrepair or hurricane damage, but it was a great place to stay back then. Fort Myers is about 20-30 minutes from the Sanibel and Captiva area and its a great alternative location if you want to explore either or both of these areas and not pay the much higher prices.
The hotel is located right on the river and there is a waterside bar and restaurant. The grounds are pretty nice too, with lots of greenery and giving the impression of a semi jungle atmosphere. Rooms at a Holiday Inn are pretty much the same wherever you go, but this place had a few extras, like an in room jacuzzi.

A: "i have family in Cape Coral that I have visited,and if nothing new hs change, there is no public transport,need to rent a car or a shuttle/taxi hope it helps"
