fort myers beach is located about 15 miles southwest of downtown fort myers. this beautiful gulf beach is not as upscale or expensive as nearby sanibel and captiva. this southwest florida beach town caters to families and budget minded tourists. fort myers beach has a small downtown area with numerous hotels, restaurants, and bars. downtown fort myers beach has a public beach with metered parking. fort myers beach has more of a party atmoshere than it's more staid neighbors, sanibel and captiva. see my fort myers beach pages for more information.
