Real beach front....

When we first arrived and checked in we started to look around. The sun was setting and made these white beaches look even more beautifull as they where during day time.

The water being from the Mexican Gulf was really the same temperature as a hot bath. That was a experience for us from the Netherlands who always have to get used to the temperature of our cold seas...

Unique Quality: Well the hotel itself is nothing special but has all to make your stay enjoyable. Simple rooms, a swimming pool and bar next to the beach and offcourse a wonderfull beach which starts where the hotel stops...

The hotel is no part of the outrigger hotel chain but an indepent hotel.

Beach Hotel

Great hotel located directly at the Gulf. Has a good breakfast buffet, a large pool and a white-sand beach.

More about Outrigger Beach Resort

What a pleasant find!

by TripAdvisor Member JerseyTravelers

We thoroughly reviewed all aspects of the Fort Myers Beach hotels/motels and chose the Outrigger Beach Resort by reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and Frommers. Even corresponded with another family that recently stayed at the Outrigger. We were not disappointed! What a terrific find; I want to keep this place to myself! Excellent for families and couples! If you want to stay at a "wild place" you'll have to go somewhere else (please do!) and I was SO glad about that! Clean and airy rooms with fantastic views of the gulf. Flowers for your room when you arrive! Very nice pool area and tiki bar with frozen drinks as well as other alcoholic/non-alcoholic choices. A different special drink each day and "virgin" frozens as well if the kids want something cool. There was excellent live entertainment on some days that was not "over the top" or too loud and ended at a decent time (around sunset?) so as to not disturb the guests. Supersized deck area for just hanging out or eating a meal or simply if you don't want to sit directly at the pool with tables and lounge chairs. Deckside Cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Service and food was good; you could order right out to the pool. Beach was clean and the sand is like walking through flour! Staff very attentive and seem to truly care about the Outrigger. Laundry room with washers, dryers, a treadmill and a stepper and a TV. Front office very receptive to any questions and inquiries and helped with sightseeing and directions. Take a daytrip to Sanibel, Captiva, Lover's Key State Park, Edison and Ford Museums, rent a boat at Fish Tales Marina (the best) and go looking for manatees and dolphins. Much more if you want or just stay in FMB and shop and play! We will definitely be returning!

Great Sunset View

Beach nice for walking. Clean, comfortable. Efficiency was a plus since eating at the on-site restaurant was not very good. Would recommend second floor room. noisy otherwise. Avoid traffic by going into downtown early.

Great Resort

We arrived at the resort 3 hours before check-in and our room was ready for us immediatly. Our first view of our room was great, very large with a great view of the Gulf. The staff was very friendly. The food at the cafe was very good and nicely priced. The Tiki Bar was very great, priced nicely and good service. Our room was cleaned quite well eack day and the whole property was extremely clean inside and out. The beach could not have been better. What a view and whata nice crowd. We would go back in a minute. Highly recommended for couples or familys.

our family loved it here

by TripAdvisor Member Dollyz

The outrigger is a florida style hotel. There was plenty to do. The kids had a blast also. They have a great pool & a tiki bar. the location on the beach is superb!!! Shopping right across the street. The staf was friendly & the rooms were clean. the rooms come with a kitchenette. The trolley picks you up right out in front of the hotel. This was one of the most enjoyable vacations we ever had.

The staff were very freindly and helpful.
The white sandy beach was very inviting, as it was well kept and clean. We have stayed there 2 times and plan to stay again.

What a great place. Not too fancy but very clean and the location can't be beat. Stayed here last week of April and will definitely go back. Tiki Bar lots of fun, friendly people and reasonable drinks.
Staff was very helpful and courteous.

The Outrigger-Out of this World!

by A TripAdvisor Member

My fiance and I stayed there during the Memorial Day Weekend with another couple. We arrived Friday night and walked into our spacious, clean rooms that overlooked the Tiki Bar and beach. What a great view! The Outrigger is situated on a great stretch of beach where you can see Sanibel on the other side. We spent most of the time near the Tiki Bar drinking delicious reasonably priced cocktails. The bartenders were very friendly as was the rest of the staff. They had a great live band on Saturday afternoon. The Deli Cafe (located on the premises) has good food which was delivered to us on the huge sundeck which overlooks the Tiki Bar, beach and pool. The Outrigger has something for everyone. It is a great hotel for a relaxing vacation. It is also very family oriented as well. We highly recommend the Outrigger. It was such a wonderful place to be we didn't want to leave.

Relax and unwind

by A TripAdvisor Member

My Husband & I stayed at the Outrigger for 3 nights, June 11-13 '04. The rooms are clean and basic, nothing overdone. The staff are friendly and helpful, not overbearing. If you want all the bells and whistles, please don't stay there, let the rooms stay unoccupied for the people who enjoy quiet, relaxing beach time. Don't misunderstand the Outrigger is also very Family orientated, thankfully they seem not to want the Spring-break loud crowds. There are several places to eat at this end of the island and if you need some noise, the northern end of the island (Times Square) is just a few miles up the road. The Outrigger is a great place to unwind, beautiful beach, tiki bar & pool without the noisy crowds. Heaven 3 hours from Home, with reasonable rates. Thanks Guys.
