The way into Fort Myers Beach
by tpangelinan
Take San Carlos over the bridge to Estero Blvd. This is a slow moving 2 lane road with lots of people walking every where, so be careful. If you go right there is some good parking and the north end points toward Sanibel Island. Go left and head down toward all the hotels and street shops. This way is VERY SLOW GOING!!
Fort Myers Beach Pier
by tpangelinan
Fort Myers Beach has a great fishing pier. This pier is lighted, free, tackle shop, ice, bait, public phone and has shelter in case of a rain storm. It stretches over the Gulf for some great fishing, Alot of night fishing too. The parking lot is metered and there is plenty of shopping and food places at the beginning of the pier and the boardwalk for those who don't fish.
Bird watching at Sanibel
by tpangelinan
If you take a ride over to Sanibel to go swimming, check out Lighthouse Beach to the left on Periwinkle Way. The water is calm, good views of the lighthouse, and plenty of birds that are not affraid of people, I got within a few feet of these beautiful birds. So make sure you bring your camera here with lots of batteries and film! There is plenty of other woldlife to see while you are swimming too.

"Ahhhh the Beach!"
We go here every year, to the Wild Wave Resort, right on the Gulf of Mexico. You can see it behind Mom and the girls. We usually go during the off season because the prices are lower and the children are on summer vacation but any time is wonderful. They have been closed for hurricane repair this past fall, but that is probably all finished now.
