fort pierce is located on the treasure coast in southeast florida. fort pierce is the county seat of st. lucie florida. fort pierce is named after a second seminole war fort that was located in present day downtown. fort pierce is known for it's excellent salt water fishing and it's beautiful atlantic beach. fort pierce also has an interesting historic district downtown. fort pierce has a very laid back atmosphere and is not as highly developed as most south florida beach towns. i would recommend a visit to fort pierce for families and tourists on a budget.
