Herlong Mansion in Minacopy: Bed and Breakfast at a Southern Mansion
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Herlong Mansion Historic Inn and Gardens has a long and interesting history that dates back to the early 1800's. Today it is a wonderful example of the southern mansions of the past.
The mahogany inlaid floors, the mission oak woodwork, the ten fireplaces and the high ceilings create a unique feeling the minute you walk in the front door. The Inn’s wide verandas with their enormous pillars overlook a sprawling lawn of ancient shady oaks and impeccable landscaping.
Unique Quality: This is an amazing place and is in a wonderful location. Spend your days feeling what it is like to be in the old south
Rooms range from $119 to about $200 a night...a great price for what you are getting

There are many chain hotels...
There are many chain hotels around town, but I prefer the little mom & pop places along 13th street just south of the UF campus. They're clean, closer to activities, and MUCH cheaper.

Try to make friends with a...
Try to make friends with a Gator ahead of time and crash at their place. Check with UF sometimes they rent dorms in the summer on a nite by nite basis.
