Not on the Beach

Nice stay but not on the beach. The room was just infront of the elevators on the 9th floor and there was a lot of noise from the elevators and the ice vending machine. No wireless internet access in the room Self Parking $14 / night
A good choice

Stayed 5 nights around Christmas and were very pleased with the experience. The pool and garden area is fabulous (though hot tub was out of order during our stay). Our king bed room was good-sized, well-appointed, clean, and quiet. From our balcony, we could see both the intracoastal waterway and the ocean, though not a vast span of either. The Hallandale public beach is just across the A1A and not difficult to get to.
We only ate at the Elements restaurant once for breakfast and at the tiki bar once for sandwiches, but the food was good both times. The microwave and minifridge were handy for us. Wal-Mart and a Winn-Dixie were a short hop over the intracoastal bridge.
Only downside was parking cost, but at least there is now a self-parking option ($14 per day, rather than the $18 for valet).
Not on but near beach

The hotel is not on the beach but on the intercostal waterway, The beach is a five minute walk. Hollywood beach is nice, clean white sand. The hotel is new and furnished nicely. The rooms are equally nicely furnished with flat screen tv. The pool and pool deck faces the intercostal waterway. Overall a very nice hotel and pleasant staff. We arrived late and there were two staff at the door. They immediately advised that valet parking was $18 or self parking $14 (expensive!) They joked about how good a service the valet was and that alone was worth the extra $4 for valet, Nice extra's, a CD to help you steep, ear plugs (for the non- snoring spouse) and eye shades.
Bad Service

This hotel recently received a face lift which is nice. Unfortunately, they did not upgrade the staff. We were not able to check into our room until 7pm at which time we asked the maids to leave. When brought to the attention of the front desk all we got was "oh, sorry". Breakfast buffet mediocre. Your better off across the street at the Westin.
Great Place in Hollywood Beach

My husband & I just returned from a short stay at this holel and we both loved it. It's a great location even though it is a short walk across the street to the beautiful beach. Sitting right on the inter coastal it provides a wonderful view of the passing boats and a dynamic infinity pool that slowly gets deeper as you enter. The pool area is quiet with lots of palm trees and a great little tiki bar and food service delivered to your lounge chair or table. We found the staff to be extremely nice and accomodating especially the very friendly & helpful bellman named Jeff. He always provided us with suggestions no matter where we were going. Also, the room was very clean & spacious and the beds very cumfy. The only negative about this hotel is that the water pressure is pretty poor. Otherwise, we loved this hotel & will stay again.

I recently stayed for 4 days at the Crowne Plaza. The staff at check in was extrememly accomodating...I arrived long before the official checkin time, and they sent me right up to my room. The room itself is brand new, beautiful furnishings, and very comfortable beds. The negatives of this hotel are the valet parking rates...14 for self, 18 for valet...I went for the valet, but then every time I retrieved or dropped off my car, the attendant was waiting for a tip...this brought the 18 a day up to about 22 a day, depending on how many times i needed the car! The fitness center was not great..several of the treadmills were not working, and all face into a long window, so depending on the time of day, you basically need sunglasses to use the cardio equipment. The starbucks in the lobby is a huge ripoff..I sent my daughter with 2.00 for a candy bar, and she was told a hershey bar would be 2.75. I walked next door to the 7-11 and got one for 75cents! Finally...on my last day, i was leaving at 7am, and wanted to grab breakfast before heading to the airport...the desk clerk suggested I leave my one suitcase with the valet while I went into the restaurant for 15 minutes, I went out to the valet, as the bell person was not in at that hour, and they FLAT OUT refused to take my one small bag and hold it for the few minutes, til i got my car from the 18 dollar a day valet. I found that totally unacceptable. OVERALL- nice redone hotel, but lacking polish in certain areas.
Disappointing Stay
by TripAdvisor Member bbigboat
The hotels recent facelift resulted in a modern attractive hotel. My room was large and well appointed. However the cleaning staff needs to be fired and they need to start again. The hotel was DIRTY. Which is very sad, the place could be great, but the cleaning staff is not doing their job. The rooms and hallways needed tending to. I even asked a housekeeper when they were going to vacuum the hall outside my room. She told me right away. Three days later it was still not done. Maybe it is the managers fault,I do not know. But if I was the owner of this hotel, I would pull a surprise visit pronto. I will not recommend this place.
Dissapointing

I'll start with the good. The rooms were nice and the pool was great. Other then its a law suit waiting o happen. Now the bad. The pool deck is extremely slippery. We saw one guy fall and get hurt pretty badly and countless people almost wiping out. Also, its right by the intercostal with NO WALL. If you have small kids they can EASILY walk off the ledge. BE CAREFULL. The view from the balcony SUCKS! All the rooms, other then the corner rooms, view the parking lot and TRASH cans! You can stick your head way out and see a glimps or the ocean. If you want a nice balcony with a view, DO NOT STAY HERE. We also asked to be moved to another room, they said they would, but just gave us a three hour run around, then no new room. You have to PAY $14-$18 a day to park your car, which I think is ridiculous considering you'll be paying over $200 to stay here. The best was when the valet guy drop the PARKING ARM on MY HEAD! It hit me so hard my glasses were knocked off and I had a bump and head ache the rest of the night. His response to doing this was, "I yelled look out" Also, there is NOTHING walking distance from this place. Youre at the border of Hollywood and Hallandale. You need to drive at least a mile and a half to get to anything worth a damn. I really dont think this place was worth the money!
Not that Great
by TripAdvisor Member efaa
The hotel is okay. The rooms are spacious and updated, although I didn't like the bathroom sink in the main bedroom area. The pool area was more then adequate and the pool side food and drinks were great, although at times it was tough to place your order due to unavailability of waitstaff. In addition, the hotel does not have any type of giftshop, therefore, we were told to go to Seven Eleven to get a paper in the morning.
We were looking for a nice restaurant relatively close to the hotel to go to on our last night and the concierge recommended Georgios....DO NOT GO!!! It was expensive, and for the money we spent, it was probably one of the worst meals we ever had. Also, if you plan on visiting South Beach, make sure you get a fixed rate before you get in the cab, otherwise you will completely overpay!!!!
A great hotel, great experience
