The ViewManatees and Pelicans to see.....
off of the A1A, just north of the town of Hollywood is an area along the intercoastal canals that has charter fishing boats... there is also a Manatee breeding ground in the same area.
If you pull over and just wander, you will walk along nice piers/paths that go into the canal a short way to allow you to see more of the canal.
By the fishing boats are the Pelicans - of course :) They are pretty tame for large beaked birds, I was able to get really close for these pics, and these birds just looked at me .. it seemed he was thinking, "is that edible? It doesn't smell like a fish ..."
