Great Place to stay in Key Largo
by A TripAdvisor Member
My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Bayside Resort every time we go to Key Largo just for fun or for our dive trips. We find the rooms neat, very clean, quiet, and for us, romantic. The king beds are wonderful! The sunsets are fabulous from their dock, and with a great Japanes restaurant on the premises, or an American restruant next door, no need to drive anywhere. Of course there is Burger King just north the kids. Breakfast is simple but just enough, coffee, fruit juices, apples, and danishs. If you want more there is a good breakfast restruant walking distance just north on US 1. Also a liquor store with a great wine slection for those quiet evenings watching TV and "resting" up for your next dive adventure.
Close to some of the best dive shops and dive sights. No hassles getting to them, just drive accross the street. The pool is great, heated, and we never seem to have to fight for a place just to relax in the sun. The staff has always treated us great, like we were something special. The rates are very fair for what you get, piece of mind. We have the use of their lobby computer for all are internet needs. I never want to leave. I would and have recommended he Bayside to all my friends and dive budddies.
Great location

I have stayed at the Bayside Resort on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The grounds and rooms are impecably clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I continue to recommend the Bayside Resort to friends who are looking for a great place to stay in the Upper Keys.
Nice Getaway Spot

I have been to the Bayside Resort for many short getaways (I live approximately 2 hours north). My experiences there have always been positive. The staff is always willing to help and the property is always clean and inviting.

I travel to Key Largo 3-4 times each year and I always stay at Bayside Resort. I have stayed at other hotels but Bayside is the best for your buck. It on the bayfront and is modern but the costs per night is always less than the other nearbye hotels and it is quiet (very important). It's location is ideal because it is close to many things to do while in Key Largo. Also, very important, it is situated at the traffic light, which makes trips off the hotel property much much more pleasant on holiday weekends. The hotel rooms are nice and clean with firm beds and internet access. The staff are very polite and take time to be extra helpful with recommendations and info. The sushi restaurant located near the lobby is quite good and hotel guests receive a discount. Best of all is the waterfront.....priceless sunsets. There is nothing like a florida keys sunset, and Bayside has them every evening. Near the waterfront is a nice pool and small beach as well as another restaurant which I don't think is part of the Bayside hotel but was good and accessable by walking along the beach. The entire hotel property is nicely landscaped. There are fancier hotels in Key Largo, but for it's location, cleanliness, staff, sunset and price, I opt for Bayside anytime.
Wished I Could have Stayed - Dennis
by A TripAdvisor Member
I want to say that even though I did not get to stay at the resort, I was very impressed with the resort's kindness in getting out of my reservation before Dennis. They were very helpful in letting me keep in touch about the weather situation and refunding all money even though we could have made part of the reservation.
Found myself a real gem

As a British tourist I was very impressed with the welcome we were given on our arrival, we were shown to our suite which was very comfortable. During the stay we found the staff went out of their way to accommodate all our needs, the food was excellent and the hotels location was beautiful, yet central to all other attractions etc.
Next year we are already looking forward to our return visit!!
Thank you all for making our vacation such a success!!
not that impressed!

stayed at this hotel last week. i booked a standard room and it was basic! no fridge no microwave or iron. it smelt of cleaning chemicals and there were ants in the room too. breakfast was included - a pastry and an apple tea or coffee. not my idea of breakfast. compared with hotels in orlando it was expensive for a small room. lastly the pool was tiny - 5 or 6 people at most! did not live up to the reviews.
Cleanest hotel room i have EVER had
by TripAdvisor Member sunseeker1066
The Bayside is a hotel that is perfect for people who want a very clean, comfortable place to stay while in the Keys. My seventeen year old daughter and myself were impressed right away by the cleanliness, and the nice little touches that make you want to come back to a location. Not only was the room very clean, but the air conditioning was fantastic, to the point where my sunglasses would fog up when I went outside of the room like they do when you come indoors from winter. The "beach" is sort of....not. But thats okay, because if you are looking for a beach location you probably wouldnt stay at the Bayside anyway. The pool was nice, the staff was fantastic, and I would definitely stay there again!
Could use some improvements

Spite of the reviews, I booked one night on August 13th, my daughter and I checked in and the lady at the front desk was so nice and cheerful, I just couldnt wait for my stay. We were given rm 207, we took the elevator up to the 2nd fl to come across the smell of someone smoking marijuana, being with my 11yr old daughter I was beginning to think of what kind of people stay here. Finally in our room, it was a standard room with windows looking at some trees, no natural light came in, so we depended on the lamps to give us some light, otherwise it was gloomy. The Bathroom was so tiny, and grimy looking, and our room was infested by little bugs. I was so paranoid to sleep at night. The pool was just a regular size pool, with a few beach chairs, it was enough for my daughter and I to swim in. The beach is of course man made, not that good for swimmnig but snorkeling is good because you will find some big fish. They have a pier so if your a fisherman you can enjoy some time there. The resort wasnt too far from places to eat or the mini mall with Kmart. Next morning breakfast was a joke, this man working there was guarding the breakfast table like if he had set up a buffet. It was simply apples, and cheese danish, coffee, tea and Oj were on another table. He seemed a little rude when we were checking out. This place was definelty not worth $112/night. Maybe half that. I wouldnt recommend it or stay again. All the other good reviews were people who stayed on the pool/ocean side. Maybe thats why there stay was better.
