Scummy, dirty, not pleasant
This is not a place you want to go if you're at all into cleanliness. The owner, seeking to convert to condos, hasn't spent a nickel in years. The rooms are dirty and dinghy, the fridge in the room was a pile of rust - there was someone's hair in the bed, not mine or my girlfriend's. Yuck, to say the least. I don't even want to think about what might have been crawling around that room in the night.
The place is also quite noisy, with the highway right beside it. Dusty parking lot, not paved. A swampy smell from the lagoon behind the hotel.
Unique Quality: None whatsoever. Drive three miles further and stay at one of the chain resorts in Key Largo proper.

A stop on the Keys way
It is a Caribbean style hotel around a pool.
Unique Quality: Spacious room on the back side of the hotel (to avoid the traffic noise).
Price : 49$ + 12pct tax
