My Husband and I spent 3 nights at the Hibiscus over the first weekend of Conch Republic. This was our second visit to Key West having stayed at Centre Court last year. In terms of value for money no question that BW is probably the best hotel on the Island, Can vouch for all other positive reviews with regard to location, rooms size & cleanliness etc, ( one very small negative AC was sooo noisy) Breakfast limited but a glass of OJ and coffee is enough to get most people going!!!. Expedia photos do not do the pool area justice. Good size pool, plenty of open area for sunbathers but some large palm trees around the edge of the courtyard provided shade also. Staffs were more than helpful offering loads of advice.
As I mentioned we were in KW last year and whilst Centre Court was superb, you do not go to KW to spend a lot of time in your room, its all about bars, dining and water activities etc So stay at BW you'll get 3 nights stay for the price of 2 at any of the mid range hotels and B&Bs.

Large Room, large bathroom. Air conditioner works like a champ. Bagels, doughnuts, and coffee free in mornings. Clean room, comfortable bed, (King size). Cable TV, Clock Radio. Phone.
Large clean beautiful Pool.
Fridge, coffee pot, iron, blow dryer.
Washers & Dryers $1.25 per load.
Nice folks in office, great place to be left alone! Hotel comfort at Motel prices.
This is a great value, and felt like home to us for 10 days! We like to be left alone, no fuss. We really were happy here!

My husband and I just returned from a week in Key West. We found the BW Hibiscus to be a good value for the room rate. Convenient to Duval Street and all the attractions as well.
The pool and jacuzzi were fine.
It's not a resort, but then again you're not paying resort prices.
A great place to stay

We have stayed at the Hibiscus several times and have always had a great time. The staff is wonderful and helpful, the rooms are clean and the breakfast was good...coffee, bagels, cereal, danish, fruit... Parking was ample, we never used our car though. We rented both bicycles and mopeds. Duval is only one street over and Mallory Square is within walking distance. The ocean is one block also. Met lots of great people in the jacuzzi and pool area each day. We are definitely planning another trip.

Went only for a short stay in Key West to attend a wedding. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hibiscus. Nice big room and very, very friendly staff. Was never awake early enough to get the breakfast that was offered so couldn't say anything about that, but there were plenty of restaurants nearby where you can get good food (breakfast until 2PM in some). Didn't get a chance to try the pool because we were trying to see as much as we can during our 3-day stay and between the wedding activities. Nice, quiet location but within walking distance to everything. It was great to be able to rent bikes (or scooters) right in front of the hotel - which we did! Had a great time! We decided we'd like to come back to Key West again one of these days. We know where to stay (again) next time...

Feb 14/2005 - stayed at the Hibiscus for one night. It was a great location. Within walking distance of Duval street, but not too noisy.
Room was nice & clean. My only complaint when we came back from a nice valentines dinner, we phoned down and asked the front desk what time the Hot Tub closed. We were told 11:00 p.m.
When we went down to the Hot Tub around 10:35 a very sarcastic employee pointed to a sign and said "can't you read?" Because we hadn't been to the pool area, we hadn't see the sign that read pool & hot tub closed at 10:00 p.m. He told us we couldn't go in the Hot Tub. I explained how the front desk had told us it was open until 11:00, but he was quite rude, made another sarcastic comment and walked off.

Terrific location, convenient, yet quiet. You can experience the real Key West, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. Yet only a block from Duval and 1 mile from Market Place.

The Hibiscus is located close to the Atlantic Ocean and a block from Duval St. It has a wonderful pool and hot tub. The people working there are friendly. The rooms are nice and the area is quiet. You can walk to restaurants, bars and the best sandwiches in Key West @ The SouthernMost Variety. Try the Cuban mmm...
Ideal Location

We stayed at this hotel last October for a couple of nights. We had not previously booked but researched this hotel. The room was very spacious and clean. The location was ideal just a short walk to the nightlife of Key West. The pool was immaculate, it was cleaned out every day. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The continental breakfast consisted of muffins, cereals etc. and we used to eat it by the pool. It was great of an evening we would come back from the noise of the town and sit and relax by the pool along with other guests. It was a real relaxed atmosphere. We would stay there again if we visited Key West. Excellent.
