Island House is the best gay resort in the world according to Out Traveler and they are right. From the time I called to make the reservation right through check out, I was very impressed. The front desk staff was very professional and gave me some great recommendations on places to eat though I did eat many times right at the café in the resort. The café staff made happy hour a blast and the service was phenomenal. My room was a little small for my taste but they had a larger room available and I was able to upgrade for only a small fee. It was well worth the extra money for the larger room. The entire property including my room was impeccably clean. I met quite a few great guys and I had so much fun. I can’t wait to go back. I love floating in the heated pool at night.

The southernmost point in the US lies in Key West. This location is only 90 miles from Cuba and is the literal end of the road. A post marks the spot and its a popular photo stop for those visiting the Keys.
It's different

I like to go somewhere that's really different from where I live, and Key West fits that bill! It's a fun place to visit and I'd love to go back. The busy-ness of the place...there is always something going on, but if you want to relax, you can do that too. Sitting by our pool was fine with me!
Getting to Key West

The ride from Miami to Key West might take you around 4 hours, from which 3 hours are crossing the florida keys with amazing blue water below the bridge you are riding. A trip to do with day light if prefered.

Go to Mallory Square for sunset. Get a drink to go from a local bar, watch the entertainment, have your fortune told, and watch the sun set over the Gulf oe /Mexico. Balmy weather and the quiet of the town (away from the main torist area).
