Days Inn Key West

This was probably the cheapest motel on the island of Key West that we could find. We were able to book a room in advance online for $59.99 using a promotion code. For the cheap price, we were given a room that did not have a table and refrigerator (they seemed to have been removed from our particular room). There was no free continental breakfast in the morning except for coffee and juice. I guess I can't really complain because of the cheap price that we got. The location of the motel is on the eastern end of the island where the Overseas Highway begins, so walking to the attractions on the western end of the island would be a little far so you would still have to drive your car (or use public transportation).

We did not expect much when we booked the cheapest major chain hotel on the entire island. Days Inn exceeded our expectations. It was clean, quiet and had a great location. While there was no water view, it was under $100 a night!
All we really needed were beds and a shower. This had so much more. Waffle House in lobby. Easy to find as it is right by the bridge where you come onto the island. Two doors down from the Trolley Tour and the Conch Train stops.

Directions: As soon as you come across bridge onto island, you turn left and it is first hotel on right.

if on a budget the days inn is one of the most inexpensive motels in key west. the days inn is located on roosevelt blvd on the east end of the island. on the east end of key west is where you will find the most inexpensive hotels and motels. the only problem with this area is that you must drive or take a taxi to the major attractions of key west. the days inn key west has all the amenities that you would expect from this budget hotel chain. next to the registration desk is a waffle house restaurant. like most key west motels prices will be much higher during the winter tourist season.

I have not stayed here, but the picture was taken as we turned to drive off Key West onto Stock Island to drive back to Miami. I was trying to get a picture of the Holiday Inn (which is on the other side of the street) because I'd talked to some folks from California who had booked on the internet, not realizing that this area is very far away from all the action.

The hotels at this end of the island have in their favor that they are easy to get to and parking is usually free. But it is the fartherest away that you can get from Old Town, so you can't walk, and you will have parking problems if you drive.

Unique Quality: Their website says: "..close to sightseeing and entertainment on famous Duval Street, provides the perfect location for a Key West vacation. Located within walking distance of beaches, restaurants, shopping and local attractions and only a mile and a half from the airport and two miles to downtown Key West.."

I think this qualifies as extremely misleading advertising although they do say they have a half hourly shuttle.

In their favor is the restaurant on site which is apparently the Waffle House. This is a relatively inexpensive chain breakfast and burger type place which is open 20 hours a day. This is better than the hotels closer to the airport where there are two restaurants near enough to walk to, and neither of them is open except for dinner.

Unique Quality: It was a good 2* hotel with breakfast facilities and swimming pool. I only found it a little bit too far from the centre.
